Excellent quality and well made. This guiro is sturdy and had no sharp edges. The handle is very comfortable to hold. The sound quality is a little high and "tinny." However, we are trying different grips to achieve a different sound. Overall, great product.

This guiro shaker will be perfect for public drum circles. It is loud enough to be heard above a lot of the drums because the sound is different so can punch through. The fact that it's metal means it should easily hold up to inexperienced "drummers." Nice addition to array of percussion instruments.

The media could not be loaded. These metal guiros are more of a merengue music thing, which started in the Dominican Republic and has since spread throughout Latin America. While they're not quite as funky as their gourd-based ancestors, they are quite loud and cut through a mix, whether you're playing live or recording. This one is lightweight, easy to use, and very economical compared to some of the brand-name percussion companies' offerings.
