I am considering getting a CNC router to do signs and monograms. This book provided information that only an experienced user could provide thus saving hours of experimentation and wasted time. It first provides ideas for designing signs, working with graphics to add interest to products plus finishing techniques which is what I was really looking for and finally information on the materials to use . I was hoping there would be better and more detailed info in the finishing section. Finishing for signs is truly important. Overall I think the book is a pretty good source for those like me that are not journeymen with our CNC routers. I am glad I bought it and do recommend it for those that want some good overall information about sign making on their CNC. There are some very good tips between the covers To the author, there is a typo on page 51 first paragraph.. (info for your reprint!) ... show more

I wasn't sure what I was buying with this book and I was a little upset when it showed up at my house and was as thin as it was but this book was well worth the purchase. There's a ton of information packed into such a small format. Highly recommended!

The book is well thought out and put together for what it is. It has the most basic of information all of which is readily available on YouTube in about 30 minutes worth of watch time. The initial chapter on sign design has helpful information if you don't understand the principles of layout, so it will give you the basics. I would recommend this book for someone who has ZERO idea about anything related to signs. As far as CNC and signs, I didn't find much info there I hadn't already gotten from an hour or so of youtube research. ... show more

This is a great book for the beginning CNC user. It guides you through a lot of great techniques for creating signs and will help the user learn the basics of CNC sign design and finish. Once you start using the ideas from this book your signs will go from plain to extraordinary.
