Excellent value. Well-made, portable & lightweight, incredibly secure and stable. The only criticism I'd make is that it has a tendency to rust if left outside or in place for very long; with this in mind, I may have to prime it & install 3/4" square rubber plugs in the ends of the rungs & elsewhere to keep rainwater and spiders out. Also, the straps (which are exceedingly well made) are pretty short and can only handle a tree trunk about 18" in diameter. Since the straps are so nice & bomb-proof, it'd be nice if Guide Gear offered longer ones. But it is possible to make your own adaptations when dealing with larger trunks. I was worried about it being too rigid to accommodate curvature in the trunk & boughs, but there's enough wobble between each of the 5 ft. sections to handle most minor irregularities I've come up against. Placement may require some thoughtfulness. I think that combining two of these (50 feet) would work, but of course it's on the user to exercise the care & caution necessary to avoid getting out on a limb, so to speak.

These climbing sticks were just what I needed to get the trees in my back yard trimmed. I had been thinking to nail 2x4 "steps" up the trunks of the trees, but when I saw these, I ordered a set. They were just what I needed. Fairly easy to assemble and put up. They felt very stable, as well. I am normally quite fearful of heights, but got 35-40 feet up in the trees with these and still felt safe and secure (I did have on a double belt safety harness, as well. Don't climb without one!).

Fairly easy set up. The tree I put it in was far from straight but there is enough flex that it didn't cause any issues. Very easy to climb and far enough from the tree so you have plenty of room for your foot. Works fine with the straps it comes with but ratchet straps would be better.

These climbing sticks are a great deal. I purchased them because they are 25' instead of just 20'. That extra 5' puts your stand at 20' instead of 15'. The sticks require the same assembly all similar climbing sticks require. They come with the required straps to anchor effectively to the tree you are climbing. You may require a extender for the straps though if you are attempting to put them on a larger diameter tree. You can easily make an extender with a loop of 1" webbing from an old ratchet strap. For the price and quality, there is no reason to purchase any other climbing sticks. I will purchase these again.

went up in the tree just as easy as any other sticks, love having the extra 5 feet that you normally don't get with other ladders. easy to put together, just make sure that you install the bracket on the same side on all 5 pieces or else the sticks won't line up correctly. I seen the complaint about two sticks going together and not lining up properly, user error. I also read a review of someone saying the sticks bent when putting them up while they were all together, don't do that. Install each piece one by one not all at the same time.

This product is perfect but if you purchase you will also need to purchase ratchet straps (tie downs) to secure the item to the tree or pole.
