I been wanting the GSI outdoors Pinnacle for some time know, but did not want to pay the price. I opted for the Glacier to save money. They are small quantities, but great camping quality. I wish I would have still gotten the Pinnacle model, But only because the Glacier need to be used with oil. Love that you can use this over a campfire. The fry pan is very heavy duty so it resists warping but that makes it heavy. For backpacking the pan, cups and bowels are all heavy compared to my old kit. I buy cheap thin throw away plastic large bowels and small cups for eating and it is very light. The lid is very light compared to pinnacle non stick version my son has. I thought we could swap a pan so we would each have one nonstick and one for fire, but this light lid does not fit on the pinnacle. I kept the set, as it is luxury for car camping and use the small pan for backpacking with a separate fry pan I got from the pinnacle line. The pinnacle uses the same handle and 9 inch is a great compromise size for frying fish and for pancakes with home made freeze dried apple pie filling. The sides are low to cut weight. Much better than the one with this set if you are cooking lots of pancakes and fish. On the plus side, this set has no chance of polluting your food with coating materials. ... show more

This was a great cookset for our weekend camping trip. We bought this one because it was fire-sale whereas most others are only safe with camp stoves. The wash basin was a great bonus and everything worked just as expected. The only issue we had was with the strainer lid. While we were boiling water over the fire for coffee, ashes kept floating in. So we put the strainer lid on top to keep the ashes out of the water, and after a few minutes the lid started fo warp. After removing it and letting it sit, it returned to normal, but it was a little alarming that it would get so misshapen from what we expected was a normal use for it. Overall, we would highly recommend this set to anybody who needs a lightweight, compact, versatile cookset for backpacking or car camping over a fire. ... show more
