    • The convex view is "round" (gives a wider view the same as a round mirror)
I put this up outside on the door jam because when I let the dog out to do their business, I cannot see the dog without having the wide-angle mirror to view when they are near the house. Some people have asked if the convex shape is just wide on this almost rectangular, horizontally oriented mirror, or if it is like the circular ones. Answer: It is definitely like the circular convex mirrors. In fact, it looks to me like these mirrors start out as circular, and then have the top and bottom cut off to make them more rectangular. If you turn the mirror a quarter turn so it is longer vertically, you don't see any distortion like you would if it was only wide angle in one direction. The mirror I got is definitely made of glass, but it is very lightweight glass. The two pieces of double-stick foam tape on the back are plenty large to hold up this light mirror, but they are not very sticky. I hope it will stay up in the wind. Where I stuck it is somewhat protected, so I hope it will be OK. The amount of convex is significant. If the mirror is too far away from your face, what is reflected in the mirror gets pretty darned small. As long as you're using it in a location where you can be within one or two feet from it, it's a good balance of just big enough to see, but as small as possible. ... show more

I'm using it for a smashed passenger-side mirror. It doesn't look good but it does make it so I can see what is in the side mirror that got smashed. I need to replace it with a new housing and mirror but in the meantime, it works really well. I did add some clear pacing tape to hold it even better.

I recommend resting the mirrored side down on a cloth while (and not your desk) while prepping it for application (to avoid scratches.) I didn't want to stick it permanently to my desk, so I glued it to a piece of foam board and used a strong clip magnet. The back of the mirror is flat, so you will need to get creative if you want it angled a specific way. It is reasonable for the ammount of money I spent. ... show more

Been working the cube life for the last few years and aside from feeling like a chained dragon or some other mythical majestic creature I hate when people just walk up behind me especially those trying to be nosey. For my fellow cube workers a mirror to see what's coming up behind you is a must have even as a safety measure for those who sit with their backs to a door. That is something I personally do not like whether in public or at work. So if you have a manager that floats around or snitching coworkers who like to butt snorkel the manager by ratting everyone else out for brownie points get yourself a mirror. Really cuts down on those creepers sneaking around. I like this one because of the wide angle it provides so I can see all the way up my isle. ... show more
