I used a 2x4 then 2x6 pattern on my deck. This was the only tool I could find for that. It is really well made. Screws are a little spendy and you can't get them anywhere else easily I could find. But they work great!

Edit: A couple thousand screws through this thing now, and it's a tank. Gaps a little tight? Smack it with a hammer, no problem. Very solid tool, much tougher than the Camo fastener tool. Would be nice if the screws were easier to find locally.

Good tool. Just used it to replace 24 - 16’ long deck boards. Few observations: 1. You cant use it near the house or on steps. The angle + length of the bit + length of the driver prevents it. Just shot the screws top down in this case. 2. It’s still possible to have the tool at an angle across the board and wind up with the screws offset. 3. The spacer wedge needs to be more wedge shaped, narrow with a taper to the full spacing thickness. They tried a bit, but you will crush the deck boards before you are able to push the spacer in. Ended up using a pry bar a lot (home depot deck boards suck). I will use it again in 15 years… or do ... show more
