Super bummed that the wood is not the darker gray color that’s in the pictures. It’s almost a light brown in person. The main reason I purchased was to match my bedroom set, which it unfortunately does not. I decided the return would be too much hassle, so I kept and assembled the bookshelf anyway. Some screws were a bit tricky, but overall it was an easy set up. It’s still a very good looking shelf, just wish it was the color as advertised.

There is a ton of good things about this product. The install process is simple and easy. It took 5 minutes to build. 4 Screws per shelf and 4 screws for the back brace. The included tool was a perfect fit with no play. The shelves are thick and heavy and the frame along with the brace make for a durable and sturdy product. Even the instructions are super clear and concise, although not really needed for how well the build process was engineered. Why the 3 star rating then? It is either horrible quality control or they find it acceptable to have scratches on the shelves. I only took photos of the top shelf, but the scratches are consistent on all the shelves. The metal corners have slightly open seams and some rust on them or a fine reddish powder. Looks like rust, smells like rust... likely rust. The funny thing is their packaging is excellent. Plenty of inserts and protection between each piece. This damage happened in the manufacturing process. I also do not think this is a one off since it was with all three panels and on every corner of the frame. Any person doing QC with any vision could not pass up 3 panels with damage. Was there even a QC process in place? I can clean off the rust and I can still use the shelf with the damage. Since it is sturdy and nice I still give it 3 stars but I was on the fence with 2 stars just do to the extent of cosmetic damage.

I could not believe how thick the shelves were for this GREATUNE Industrial Bookcase. I’ve never worked with such heavy shelves. They are thick, sturdy, and obviously made of dense particle board. I would not be surprised to find that these shelves, which are rated for 100 pounds each, could hold much more. This bookshelf was very easy for me, as a woman working by myself, to assemble and it went together in less than 10 minutes. I assembled it with it laying on the floor on its face, so that made assembling it much easier for one person to handle. After I attached the shelves, I stood it upright to attach the “X” on the back. You need a little leverage to attach that, so the shelf really needs to be standing. Overall, this bookshelf is sturdier and more attractive than I expected. Very pleased with the quality and sturdiness of this bookshelf. As the parent of kiddos with autism, there are causes near and dear to my heart. Let Amazon donate to your favorite charity! This bookcase looks great!! It was easy to assemble alone but having help to hold it is better. It took maybe 20min total to put together. There is one part in the back X that was either made wrong or was not measured right. It is more for decoration and does not effect it. It is a shorter shelf so keep that in mind. It holds a lot of stuff and looks great. Definitely recommend it if you can get past the one design flaw!!

This is absolutely the cutest bookcase. It was extremely easy to put together and the directions were so easy to follow. I was shocked at how well this was made. It’s extremely sturdy and heavy and it hold all my books perfectly. It’s so worth the value compared to others.
