I purchased to have as a cheap secondary plate carrier for my steel level III+ plates. I have zero problems installing my plates. I have 10x12 plates, front is swimmers cut with 3way curving(it curves top to bottom, side to side and at the corners.). Rear plate has same curving but is a standard plate cut. If you have good quality plates they should fit this carrier well. My level IV plates might be a snugger fit due to the thickness of the ceramic, but I imagine they would fit. As to the durability of this carrier, for what I’m using it for it will be fine.(weighted work outs and rowing/SHTF carrier to throw on my wife or order kids.). Seems to be a great value for the money. I’m 6’4” and 230lbs. Fits well with room for adjustment

For the price, I have zero complaints. I don't think it needs to be said that this isn't an ideal choice for actual use with real plates, but for some airsoft pick-up games? Totally adequate at 1/10th the price of a JPC. I've used it reasonable hard for a few years and I haven't even experienced any fraying. It's not the most comfortable thing in the world and I'd maybe consider getting some shoulder pads, but it's generally fine. There is a small admin pouch in the upper section, and you have a very basic integrated (x3) STANAG-sized pouch in the lower section. It also is not necessarily designed to be compatible with placards. Note that it does not come with any inserts besides some flimsy, low-density foam, so you'll want to get something to keep it's rigidity.

I use this for airsoft, so I can't give input on how it performs with real plates. However, the vest is built well, and more lightweight than I expected. My only gripe is that the shoulder straps seem to fit awkwardly.

I own the actual JPC and this one is not bad for the price for training. Or, just need an inexpensive, low visible carrier. I can fit MED size plates inside with ease and is rather comfortable. I am not going to say that it's a perfect direct action rig. But, if you need something for the back of a patrol car that gives you a little more protection with some 556 mags and a few other things? It works. If you are working training runs in a house? It is holding up well. Need something to put under a jacket? It does that as well. One thing that I did have to do is there is a retention strap on top of the cummerbund. I did stash that. the cummerbund itself is looped in place with some bungie 550 cord. I may throw a different cummerbund with some QD clips on it later down the road. But it is working now. Will I jump with it? Heck no! But for EDC for the back of the truck. It is a winner.

Could you use real plates? Yes. Are there better options at similar prices? Also yes. Soft holed straps are flexible and will not hold real plates firmly.

Bought this specifically because it was a cheap carrier. I purchased a set of level 4 swimmer plates from Hoplite Armor and the carrier I was wanting is currently still out of stock. This carrier pleasantly surprised me with the quality for this price. The velcro seems to be able to hold the weight of the 6.7lb level 4 swimmer cut plates so far, doesn't appear to be slipping. There are some small issues with the elastic not really seeming like it's the best looking but overall I cannot complain about this carrier given it was under $50 and it's much better than having nothing. It's comfortable, it can hold 6 magazines, and the cummerbund gives plenty of breathing room for a 6'0" 250 pound guy like myself. Plenty of adjustments in each area that allows it to fit well. It does a good job at spreading the weight of the plates around my torso, rather than the weight just hanging on my shoulders. If you're looking for a plate carrier and the one you want is out of stock, you can't go wrong with this one to at least tide you over until you can get the one you want. I was expecting something cheap and not the best but I was pleasantly surprised.
