After seeing some reviews saying that this didn't work with their clock, I was hesitant to buy it, but figured if it didn't, I could always return it. Had this grandfather clock shipped from my dad's house in CA to me here in NC in a POD with a bunch of other stuff. Unfortunately, when the movers packed up the POD, they wrapped up the pendulum in a separate blanket and plastic wrap for safer shipping, which I found, but also packed the top spire and the key together in a separate box, which they neglected to label. So somewhere in three rooms of boxes that we unpacked from the POD last weekend, there is a key for this clock. I did not want to wait until I found it to set up and start the grandfather clock running, so went ahead and bought this key, in the hope that it would work. Yay! It did. It fit in, turned easily, and just like that, the clock door opened. I have no idea of the specific make and year of the clock, other than it is a Ridgeway, and we had it in the house in CA back in the 80s and 90s, so definitely before 2004. Delivered in less than 24 hrs and it works great! My only issue is the key is shinier then I expected. I thought the key was more of a duller looking brass color to match the duller brass color on the clock. But it works and that's the main thing. I can always duller it down myself later if I want to. ... show more

My mom had a grandfather clock that my siblings and I gave to her and dad as a 25th wedding anniversary gift. The key was lost after dad passed away, unfortunately, and he's the one that would wind it so it would chime. Once I got the make and model from the clock, I was able to order a new key, which would open the door.
