BOTTOM LINE: Great little mount base/arm holds phone (and any other similar-sized/weight items) solid as a rock. Sized to use standard 1" RAM mount attachments, but comes with an adapter for smaller doohickies, too. THOUGHTS: I have a mobile desk for my job that I use almost all day, every day. I got tired of my work phone sliding and bumping around on the desktop, and there's always a risk it will end up bouncing on the concrete floors I walk daily. I spotted this VAUBORTTI GPS Sticky Mount on Amazon and took a chance. Since the desk is basically mine, I went ahead and drilled through the particle board upper top, using the mount base as a hole guide (which is already tapped for 4 bolts/screws). I did not, however, use the 3M sticky tape that covers the underside of the mount base, in case I ever decide to move this - or for when I retire and want to take it with me and put it to use someplace else. 4 screws, flat washers & locknuts later and this thing is very rigidly mounted. The phone holder I ordered to attach to this mount is for motorcycles, so it has shock absorbing capabilities. A big bonus as it turns out, since my little desk/cart have to traverse a very large manufacturing facility and there are all sorts of cracks and expansion grooves that my desk has to power over. After almost a month on the job, this mount arm is standing tall and holding my phone exactly like I'd hoped. Very happy. Highly recommended! ... show more

    • Almost all of the utility value of RAM mount products at half the price
I like RAM-branded mount products, but they are fairly expensive. After spending $30 on a single L-shaped arm, I decided to look for some alternatives. This product also earns utility points because RAM does not make a 17mm ball, which is what a lot of phone mounts are made with. Buying equivalent RAM-branded mount/arm and a 25mm to 17mm ball adapter would easily cost $40 dollars, so this item is a very good value. Since almost all parts are made of metal (I didn’t use the plastic clip for a Garmin GPS), I don’t have durability concerns either. To be complete and objective, I should mention that the arm included in this item is not as nice to use as a RAM-branded arm. It is missing the spring between the two halves of the arm which is quite helpful in keeping the arm on a ball at one end while attaching the second send. The knob and screw also don’t seem to work quite as well. However, functionality-wise, it’s pretty much identical to the big-brand product. Recommended! ... show more

I've been using a telescoping phone mount with gel suction to mount my Garmin 790. Although the telescoping phone mount has worked well, my GPS tends to bounce when driving on rougher roads. I saw this mount from VAUBORTTI and thought I'd give it a try. I really like the build quality of the mount itself giving you the ability for granular adjustments. I was really excited at first until I went out to try truck the next morning. The whole mount had fallen off because of the cheap sticky pad they provide. Not only did it fall, but because the base has jagged edges, it scratched my new dashboard. Not happy at all! This would have been a great mount but they really need better sticky pad, and use plastic for the base. The only thing I can do now is find a different base on Amazon with a 24mm ball. Luckily my old suction cup phone holder covers the nasty scratch this base left on my dashboard. I don't recommend purchasing this product only because of the hard base with jagged edges. Once that sticky pads lets go, the whole mount will come down scratching everything in its path. ... show more

    • Good but needs better tape
This works overall as intended. However, the double sided tape to hold this on the dash did not stick at all. I prepped my dash with alcohol wipes, but it still wouldn't stick. I do like the petals design and was able to bend them to match the contour of my dash perfectly. I will look at some industrial quality 3m tape or alien tape and try to install again. It is possible that my dash had some protective coating as well. Other than the attach to my dash issue, this is very sturdy and strong material. Easy to adjust and I like that it comes with a 2 sided ball connector. The 17mm fit my Garmin Drive 51 61 perfectly. ... show more

    • Fits my Garmin GPS perfectly! RAM "B" mount compatible.
I ordered this mount for a Garmin GPS that I recently purchased. I was thrilled to find that this mount fit the GPS perfectly. I attached the base to a "Nav Mat" weighted dashboard base using the adhesive pad that comes installed on this mount's base. Time will tell whether that adhesive holds in the car during the hot and cold months. The adhesive started to peel off the mounting base a bit as I was removing the non-stick red plastic layer to expose the sticky adhesive, so I'm doubting its long-term holding ability. I used rubbing alcohol to clean the mounting surface before I attached the adhesive pad. Hopefully it holds. This mount is compatible with RAM "B" ball mounts. I use those a lot in my car and this will work well with my existing parts. The mounting base has 4 screw holes, and I would definitely recommend using them if you can. I'm giving this 5 stars, because it's a quality mount and is sticking well so far. If there is a weak spot with this mounting kit, it's the adhesive pad. ... show more

A lot of devices seem to have gone to a 17mm ball used on GPS display mounts. I have a magsafe magnetic ring phone mount that takes a 17mm ball to mount it. This kit will let me mount the phone mount much stronger than the all plastic bases. This has a ram mount 1in/25mm all metal double ball and socket arm the 1in to 17mm adapter, and a unique self adhesive ball base. The base is made from a metal 'flower' where the individual segments can be bent somewhat to conform to a dash that is not completely flat and is slightly curved surface. Recommended. ... show more
