On the spool it says 30LB/0.008”/328YD 10.5kg/0.20mm/300m. That means if it's 10.5kg, it's just over 23LB!

I can confirm this is a 8 strand braid. The line is super smooth as you would expect from an 8 strand braid so the line is going to move through your pole guides faster and may help in getting longer casts. They do have one thing in the description of this product that I don't like very much but it's something a lot of these braid manufacturers do. They talk about how abrasion resistant their lines are. It is simply the nature of braided line that they are NOT very abrasion resistant. THat's why you will see a lot of folks put on a mono or flouro leader at the end of their braided line since those are much more better with abrasion than braided line.     • Very strong, small diameter braided line with minimal to no stretch. Great abrasion resistance too.
Braided fishing line is not perfect for all fishing situations, but it will work for most types of fishing. When I am able to use braided line, I try my best to use it for a few key reasons. First of all it’s incredibly strong for its size (diameter). The Goture X8 20 pound test braid I got has the same diameter of 8 or 10 pound monofilament fishing line. Warning, whatever you do, DO NOT try to break this stuff with your hands or with your teeth, you will regret it. It will slice through your skin like a knife. Also with the small diameter for such high strength lines, I’m able to keep more line on my reel and that can be helpful when fighting big, powerful fish that might otherwise “spool” me, meaning pull all the line off the reel until it breaks off. Secondly, with the low to zero stretch that this line has, I feel more bites. When there’s no stretch in the line, the fish striking the lure/bait is felt all the way back up to the rod and reel, where line with a lot of stretch loses a lot of that sensitivity. I do find myself using this braided fishing line for a lot of other uses around the house just because it’s so darn strong and small diameter. I’ve used it for hanging bird feeders, hanging pictures on the wall, stitching a leather knife sheath together and even snaring invasive green iguanas in South Florida.     • Strong, smooth braid
This braided line from Goture is super quiet going through the guides. The eight strands used to weave the line gives it a more tubular shape so it runs smoother and quieter. The line is very thin and strong. I don't believe that you have to used 60 or 80 lbs braid to throw frogs or pitch into the weeds. I've always used 20 lbs braid and never had issue with the line not being strong enough to pull fish out of the muck. Of i was fishing professionally and $100k or more was on the line, I might think differently but I'm not a pro. Like every other braided lines I've used, this does not hold the color very well. The black color became gray after one fishing session under the sun. This is not a deal breaker for me as long as the strength of the line does not diminish. This is some good quality braid at a very affordable price. And I love the large spool size that means I can spool up 3 reels before its empty. The color doesn't seem to bleed and the line coating ensures that it flies through the guides easily. Even though it's 8-carrier strand braid, it still doesn't feel like its round but almost square or flat-ish? It still works well and hasn't given me any casting or durability issues yet. ... show more

As the pictures show, the color is supposed to be army green, but it's actually royal blue; also , the spool doesn't appear to have 547 yards on it, but more like 309 yards. That said, the line is supple, thin, and coated with a slick substance that should protect against abrasion and keep the line buoyant. I haven't filled a reel with this line yet, because I want to measure how much was on the spool, but I think the quality is very good for the cost, hence the 4 star rating. ... show more
