I feel I need to point out though that while it says in ad that max weight is 176 lbs, the bottom of board (see pic) says 154 lbs, as does the manual. I am closer to the 176 lbs, and I rode it fine and my son is about 155-160 lbs and he rode fine as well. So idk....ymmv A bit tricky to get calibrated and may have to do it more than once, but the more you do the easier it gets, lol After the set up and letting it charge, we have had a blast on this thing. We have hardwood floors and our living room/kitchen is one big room with an island...so yeah, we had a great weekend doing laps. We live in the country, so other than the roads there are no other hard surfaces. Not to mention it was raining all weekend, so in the house was obvious choice! Yes, there is a learning curve. Hard to remember you move it with your toes basically, leaning a bit into whichever direction your going as to not fall off. My son got it way before I did...but once you have it, you have it and it's SO MUCH FUN! I'll be honest, we were having so much fun I didn't get a chance to try the bluetooth function out, yet.     • Super fun for kids
I ordered this hoverboard for my 14 year old son. He quickly picked up how to ride it. It doesn't go as fast as he would like, but i'm fine with that. We just use it indoors, since it doesn't go too fast it works well inside. The lights and music are a fun touch. The speakers aren't the best quality, probably a younger person would enjoy that part more. It does take several hours to completely charge, and he can burn through a charge in about 30 minutes. That could be because he's 130 pounds. It is a lot of fun, and he really likes it. This would make a great gift for a wide range of ages. ... show more

The build quality on this hoverboard is excellent. The entire unit is sturdy and easy to step on. The self-balancing system works great. Very easy to get on and off of it and turning is quick and stable. The unit can go quite fast, so I would exercise caution and wear your safety gear! The lights looks very cool. The ride overall is very comfortable. The built-in speaker is a nice addition, but the volume is very low and the sound is flat. I suppose it's better than nothing.
