This is hands down the best e-scooter i've ever owned (and i've owned many!) We live in a small apartment in nyc and it's pretty impractical to drive or uber everywhere. I use this to commute to work, run errands, explore the city, or just get at quick breath of fresh air by going for a ride around the park. It's a total game changer for the way we live in the city! Portability-wise, it's pretty great -- look at the top down photo and check out how little floor space it takes up (though I want to figure out a way to hang it from the wall!) Acceleration and battery life are phenomenal, easily get 13+ miles on a charge in hot weather, sometimes with my kid in front (we both wear helmets and only go on sidewalks, be safe!!!) or with a big load in my backpack. I'm 145 lbs so it's well below the limit but we took it to the beach the other day on the boardwalk and i had a friend in front, our total weight was 260 lbs or so . Well over the limit but it worked just fine :) And the build quality is excellent. Definitely a different league than our other scooter, a Hover-1, which is pretty awesome but definitely a bit flimsier in its construction. Good, wide footpad and the folding/hooking mechanism is so much more solid than anything i've seen in other scooters. That said, it makes the scooter a bit heavier than others -- about 35 lbs, which is not a walk in the park if you need to carry it anywhere (plus it's a bit unwieldy). Also wish that the handlebars unscrewed like my other model, but I guess that's the tradeoff for having something that wont break into pieces when you inevitably get some dings. This was a pretty significant purchase, so I'll take the time to provide a detailed review. The scooter arrived within days of my order. It was securely packaged, and took me only about 15 minutes to unwrap and assemble. The battery was 75% charged upon arrival, which allowed me to take it for a spin right out of the box. The construction on this G4 is excellent. The welds are very clean, and the paint and other finish details are flawless. It arrived with a Quality Control (QC) sticker, which suggests that the scooter was inspected before being released. All the hardware was properly fastened. The tires were sufficiently pressurized, and ready to go upon arrival. I will fine tune the tire pressure as I become more familiar with the scooter. The G4 accelerates from a stop to its maximum speed of 20 MPH quickly on the Level 2 power setting. The 350 watt, 36 volt motor is powerful, and quiet. The 10.4 amp hour battery is substantial for a scooter. If the throttle is held for 8 seconds, the cruise control takes over, saving your thumb from having to continue to hold the throttle down. A touch of the brake lever disengages the cruise control. The rear disc brake brought me from 20 MPH to a dead stop in 44 feet. For my weight, I considered this to be very good. Stopping distances at slower speeds were commensurately shorter. The pneumatic tires do a good job of smoothing out the bumps in the road and sidewalk. Battery life seems to be very good. I have not attempted to completely exhaust the battery, but the riding that I have done so far hasn't depleted the charge much at all, and the scooter continues to accelerate just as quickly as it did when it was freshly charged. The scooter handles well, and has no squeaks or wobbles. It's rock solid. The deck does not flex at all under my weight (200 pounds). The clever latch device on the tiller that allows the scooter to be lifted when folded, also serves as a handy place to hang a bag while riding. The attached photo shows how I hung a very large tactical backpack, with no problem at all. The latch was designed to support the weight of the scooter (approximately 37 pounds) while folded for carry, so it should easily support most any bag that you would normally carry by hand. This is a convenient feature if the scooter is to be used for shopping, for commuting to work or school, or for just scooting around the beach or campground. I was also happy to see that the headlight and tail light are integrated into the scooter's wiring, and are very bright. The lights can be turned on and off at the control switch. The tail light has an integrated brake light that flashes when the brake is applied. The brake light works with or without the head light and tail light being switched on. This is a very nice feature. The LCD control display is bright and easy to read. There is also a surprisingly loud bell on the handle bars. Overall, I can highly recommend this GoTrax G4 scooter. It folds up easily and is small enough to fit in the trunk or the back seat of most cars, and is easy to carry. I am very pleased with this purchase. ... show more

    • Amazing Scooter with great battery life and handling

I am moving to a major city in the coming month and after experiencing electric scooters in college, I figured I'd pick one up myself since I'll be living some distance away from friends. My Neighbor recommended getting one of these since he's had one of their models for over two years now with zero problems. I opened the finely assembled packaging and secured four bolts to attach the handlebars to the frame of the scooter and that's all that was needed to put it together. The entire assembly was completed in a few short minutes so that was a relief. The manual was very straightforward and the scooter has an intuitive design for unlocking, powering on headlights, increasing or decreasing the gear I am in and setting cruise control. I put over 50 miles on in the first few days of having the scooter and had a really enjoyable time. The wheel and suspension combo have beautifully handled some monster potholes I've accidentally strayed across. Gear 1 caps the speed at 15 mph which is a very nice leisure speed and Gear 2 caps the speed at 20 mph which feels exhilarating. I've gotten very comfortable with the scooter after a short few days. The battery life on this thing is also crazy good, I've ridden for over an hour before and had it only drop one bar of charge. It charges quickly too so if I plug it in when I return from a ride, It will be back at full charge by the next time I go out. ... show more
