I am using these for a painting party I am teaching. I have done my painting already on one of these and I find they work very well for my needs. My only complaint (it doesn’t apply to my current use noted above) is that these are not marked as to whether these are cardboard core, or mdf core or other. I like to use mdf core as the cardboard core type are not as durable. I’ve had cardboard core type fail when they got a bit damp. They started to bend and warp. Now the documentation on these says they are archival, so I am assuming mdf or a composite material core, but again, it doesn’t say. They have decent tooth and took paint just fine. I was using thinner paint as I use the same type I will be using to teach with and I usually use the student grade or the next grade up. The photo is of a 4” square or so clip of my painting so you can see the grain of the canvas and how it took paint. I like these, I hope they hold up. i got these for my daughter as she loves to do art. she was super excited to try them out and so far they seem to be well made and good quality. she's used paint markers, acrylic paints, and watercolor on these and all of those have worked well. i really like the bulk set as its a far more economical way to preserve her art than purchasing them individually. the canvases themselves seem to be higher quality and haven't bent or warped yet. as noted in the listing these are pre coated with gesso so no extra steps are needed before use. overall were happy with this and will probably buy additional sizes when she finishes with these. ... show more

These were a little rough, but a once over with the sander made it nice and smooth. It held the paint really well and are a good size to work with. To me it’s a plus that they are the flat canvases because I like to lay them flat on the table like a piece of paper but that’s only my preference. Really nice bulk pricing. Recommend. ... show more

This is a great value for this many canvases! There are 40 in the pack, size is accurate at 8x10, and thickness is perfect! I was concerned at first if I was going to be able to put one in a frame if I wanted to. What I found was, as long as the frame has a lip to set the canvas down in, they do fit! Thinner frames it might not work however. I tried two different paint types (both acrylic though) on the canvas and pencil. One paint was a typical tube of acrylic and the other was acrylic paint pens. The paint pens did a much better job! The regular paint (painted on with a brush) had to be painted in one direction only or it would show exactly where you made strokes. Adding a second coat helped but if I could help it, after discovering this, I only painted in a single direction for consistent lines. The pencil drawing looked very good as well. My daughter will be using a few of these for 4H fair entries next year. Great canvas for beginners or advanced artists! ... show more

My kid's love making art with many different types of paint and so far these have been great for that. My daughter takes an art/drawing class every Saturday and she can also use these for that as well. So far they've turned out great and we've not had issues with them. As a beginning acrylic painter, these canvas boards work quite well. They are pre-primed with gesso and acrylic paint goes on smooth. Pencil lines are easily removed with an eraser. I like painting on canvas boards and these are priced well - I feel like I can throw one away if I mess up and can’t fix it.
