I got these for the kids at my work. The canvas' have taken very well to many different kinds of paint, from watercolor to acrylic. Although the watercolors did take a lot of layering, but that is to be expected.

I am using these for a painting party I am teaching. I have done my painting already on one of these and I find they work very well for my needs. My only complaint (it doesn’t apply to my current use noted above) is that these are not marked as to whether these are cardboard core, or mdf core or other. I like to use mdf core as the cardboard core type are not as durable. I’ve had cardboard core type fail when they got a bit damp. They started to bend and warp. Now the documentation on these says they are archival, so I am assuming mdf or a composite material core, but again, it doesn’t say. They have decent tooth and took paint just fine. I was using thinner paint as I use the same type I will be using to teach with and I usually use the student grade or the next grade up. The photo is of a 4” square or so clip of my painting so you can see the grain of the canvas and how it took paint. I like these, I hope they hold up. Not much to review here. I bought these to paint on with acrylic paints. The canvas boards are sturdy enough and are all really the same size, so there is no difference in canvas sizes. The canvas is rough and it has a nice tactile feel. Paint pools nicely into the textured surface. I was satisfied with the quality of the gesso it was even and it didn't seem to pull through the colors at all. My acrylic brush markers worked really well on these as I suspected they would and it was truly a fun experience using them. The biggest problem with these canvasses that I saw were some assembly defects in the packages I received. Some of the canvasses weren't glued completely to the board, they were cut unevenly, and the backings didn't cover the corners of the canvas edge so it sticks out. I had to fold the canvas corners in and will super glue them back, but I don't think that there should be any defects in these they are a pretty standard item, however; there were defects, unfortunately. Even with the defective boards I still think this is a great deal. You can fix any canvasses that were produced badly with a little superglue and they will work just fine. I would say this is a combo good pack of practice canvasses but if you're looking for a full pack of production boards??? I don't know. I like them I give them a thumbs up they do what they're supposed to and the defects aren't all throughout the product. Just be warned you will probably find a few messed up ones. ... show more

I recently got this set of 40 8 by 10 inch white gesso primed, 100% cotton canvases for painting by GOTIDEAL and I am very happy with it. The canvases feel sturdy in hand and the white primer gives them an excellent base for Acrylic painting. I have not yet tried using Oil paints but I think it would work well for them too. I am a self taught hobby artist and the 8" x 10" size is good for my needs. There is a slight variation in how some of them are cut but it is not bothersome to me, and these will keep me busy for a while. ... show more

Recently I decided to practice with acrylics and gouache, and when I saw this deal I had to take it. 40 Canvas that I can frame and hang at home, do plenty of practices, or have fun with friends.     • great choice for a budding artist
i got these for my daughter as she loves to do art. she was super excited to try them out and so far they seem to be well made and good quality. she's used paint markers, acrylic paints, and watercolor on these and all of those have worked well. i really like the bulk set as its a far more economical way to preserve her art than purchasing them individually. the canvases themselves seem to be higher quality and haven't bent or warped yet. as noted in the listing these are pre coated with gesso so no extra steps are needed before use. overall were happy with this and will probably buy additional sizes when she finishes with these. ... show more
