Surface, filler & air temp should be above 40°. Mix gently before use. FILLING: Apply to area with putty knife. Remove excess. Large/deep holes may need an extra filling. SANDING: Allow to dry approx. 1 hour for shallow fills & 2-6 hours for deeper holes. Use medium sandpaper. FINISHING: Before filling, test stain on scrap wood with filler. May be painted with latex or oil based paints CLEAN-UP: Remove all excess residue with a damp cloth before the filler dries. Use soap and water to clean hands and tools before material dries. Reseal tightly with cap after each use.For outdoor use, coat with exterior paint. Not recommended for continuous water submersion.

This wood filler works incredibly well! I had some chair legs that were pretty chewed up from our puppy, and now that the chaos phase is over, I finally decided to fix them and I’m so glad I used this. It was super easy to apply and actually let me rebuild the damaged sections of the legs. The texture is thick, almost like wet sand, which made it easy to shape and work with. It starts as a brown color and dries to a nice light brown. I also really appreciated that it was almost odorless. The container is very convenient too. It’s easy to use, reseal, and doesn’t dry out quickly. I do recommend giving it a quick mix before each use so the consistency is nice and even. I let everything dry overnight, then sanded it down the next day with no issues at all. The finished result was smooth, solid, and felt super sturdy. It was also really easy to paint over, and once painted, it blended in beautifully and looked great. This is a good product, but like other reviews mention it comes pretty dry. Kneading it is hard when it's so crumbly. I ended up adding a drop or two of water into the amount I needed and that made it spread so much easier. It's great after applied! Seamless painting and you couldn't tell I had to patch anything. Pretty odorless and foolproof. I would buy again and just know that it will need some extra help with water. ... show more

I recently used Gorilla All Purpose Wood Filler for a few projects around the house, and I’m really impressed. I’m not a professional—just a regular person fixing up some dings, holes, and cracks in furniture and trim—and this stuff made the job way easier than I expected. The wood filler is smooth and easy to apply, kind of like thick peanut butter, but it spreads nicely and stays in place. It dries fast, which I loved because I didn’t have to wait all day to sand or paint over it. Once it dried, it was hard and solid, not crumbly or flaky like some others I’ve tried before. I also liked that it didn’t shrink or crack after drying, even on slightly deeper spots. And it took paint and stain really well—it blended right in with the rest of the wood. One tip: don’t leave the lid open too long, or it can dry out a little bit. Just close it tight when you’re done and it should last a while. Much easier to use than 2 part putty, just scoop out and fill holes. Hardens quickly and sticks in cracks. Easy to shape and sand. So far it's still working after sun and rain. If it dries out, just add a little water.

Gorilla wood filler is a dry, crumbly substance that does not spread easily. I rolled it into small balls, and forced it in the exposed joints in the stairwell. Given some time, the product dries rock hard and can certainly be drilled and used to mechanically anchor whatever is needed. After using medium grit sandpaper, and cleaning off the dust, I refilled the seams with a soft putty filler and the joints are nearly invisible. Gorilla wood filler requires some work and will not give a smooth slick finish until it is sanded and painted or stained. If you are after a long term, near permanent fix, this is the stuff to use. ... show more

I bought this product because "Gorilla" is synonymous with quality. I was disappointed, however, in the failure of this Woodfiller to hold up on new construction of my porch railings. I finished this project in the fall of 2025 under very good weather conditions and had no reason to think there may have been a problem with curing. I noticed this spring when in a gentle rinse with a water hose every bit of the filler came out, needless to say the primer and paint did as well. I will have to start from scratch on this project. On a good note, however, the areas that were dry and protected from the weather stayed intact even after rinsing with water. That is my reason for the 3 stars.....I would have loved to give it a 5. ... show more

Smooth Application, Reliable Finish I used this Gorilla all-purpose wood filler on a few projects recently, including patching some nail holes in trim and filling a small gouge in an outdoor bench, and it performed really well. The texture is smooth, easy to apply, and doesn’t clump or dry too fast, so I had plenty of working time to get a clean surface. Once dried, it sanded down evenly without crumbling, which made it simple to blend with the surrounding wood. The natural finish is a big plus—it’s close to a neutral wood tone, which makes it easier to stain or paint over without odd color bleed-through. I also like that it’s water resistant, so I feel confident using it on outdoor projects like the bench and fence posts. So far, it’s held up well against a couple of summer rainstorms without cracking or softening. The only thing to keep in mind is that like most fillers, you need to slightly overfill the gap since it shrinks a touch as it dries. If you sand too aggressively, you’ll end up with a shallow patch and may need to reapply.
