Design: Poor design. Spikes don't punctuate soil, other than very soft soil. You must apply signifigant pressure to operate. Build quality: Handle bends when too much pressure applied, which is needed in order to operate it.

Good lawn aerator. Better than the aerator shoes I used last 2 times. Roller works better than the shoes and obviously makes it easy to walk and make holes in your desired areas of lawn. I used it for aeration and for over seeding a lot of areas in my backyard lawn. Will share pictures if/when the lawn starts growing. But from the size of holes feels like the seeds will get in better contact with the soil compared to when I used the shoes.

It's time to do some lawn work. I bought this because I had some grass spots that didn't grow grass. I want to let them get some air and add some seeds. It was easy to install, and I didn't add any extra weight to it. I think that it already has enough weight. I will see how it gets results after a few weeks.

After thatching and running the catcher over it to remove the grass, now is the one of the best times to aerate the lawn for the fertilizer. Top dressing is next. After placing the top soil make sure there is no clumps in what you spreaded down that will stick to the points. No issues, use a plastic scraper to remove it. Keep on rolling. Remember sand is heavier than water. You need it to achieve you goal.
