This is not a toolbox for someone who just post wonderful home projects, this is for the homeowner that needs someone to keep all the tools they have accumulated and they are too bulky for the smaller boxes. But on to the review. It was dented folded to fit and just thrown in. Screws were loose, a metal plate was folder to fit by almost bending in half, had to use a hammer to get the smaller box out of the bigger box because the side notches were bent out so bad. You can tell whatever factory assembled this was on mandatory production quotas. With that said not returning because honestly too much trouble (home bound from surgeey so would need someone else to drop off) and as I said it is to collect the random tools. It is lightweight, and do have a decent set of wheels so they won't break. To lock it is a bar that slides down, and isnt very large so can sit in a garage out of the way. Think it will hold various of things so I can organized the collection of thingmajigs and whatyoucalls I have acquired with my fixer upper ... show more

I'm a retired Electronics Technician. Works for me because I have a Craftsman 400+ piece socket set in its own case. The metal feels a little thin but with the rolled edges it won't bend. The MOST disappointing feature is the tiny casters. I've decided that I'm going to have to change them out for a bigger set. And if you already have a Craftsman 3-drawer toolbox. I knew I wasn't purchasing a heavy duty, hard-core, handy man product however, I did expect a product that was not already damaged. The packaging that this Rolling Tool Chest arrived in had a small smashed corner, nothing to suggest the damage that we found inside. Upon opening it was clear that the packaging put in place was to insure a safe transport with no damage. Each corner (8 in all) had heavy duty plastic corner protectors along with heavy duty cardboard corner protectors and Styrofoam. It all seemed pointless due to the fact the damaged occurred prior to packaging. It was obvious the top left, front corner was dented when we removed the first corner protector (the protector was intact, no damage to it). Evidence that the damage was done prior to packaging. We removed the chest from the box, and we discovered the bottom left, front corner was dented as well. It seemed logical the top Tool Box was inside of the bottom Chest, but how to open the door without damaging (scratching the paint) was another issue that didn't make sense. A tie attached to the screw (there was a screw in the hole where the knob would be attached) would have solved that issue, (though we did open it without any further damage). Getting the Top Tool Box out of the bottom Rolling Chest part was rather difficult, it was a very tight fit and hard to remove without hurting or scratching your fingers, not to mention the Tool Box itself. With each step we found new dents (I've posted only the pictures of the severe dents), some that would affect the assembly if not fixed prior to the completion of assembly. The instructions stated the shelf for the bottom part of the Rolling Chest would be located in the bottom of the chest. It was not, we found it in the bottom of the box, dented, and slightly concave, the entire chest had been sitting on it. The assembly itself would have been seamless if the hardware had not been 'tangled'. Some of the washers were meshed together. The top tool box will not sit level on anything, the chest, the ground, etc. It's frustrating that someone chose to package, address and send a product that was clearly damaged. They had to cover the damage with the packaging. They made a choice to put the shelf in the bottom of a box and heavy object on top of it, expecting it to be okay. It's frustrating that the manufacturer decided that the small details that would insure a great product were overlooked. I will contact the manufacturers, with little hope that they will compensate in any way-they have their money and I have a faulty product. If I were shopping at a brick/mortar store there would have been given some type of discount for a damaged product, and that would be acceptable for both because we would both know and see the damage prior to me purchasing HONESTY. The Rolling Tool Chest with a Tool Box is what I wanted, it will fit our needs, therefore, we made the choice to keep it, not worth the hassle to package it up, return it and wait to see if the next one would arrive in the same condition, or have a long battle trying to get our money back. My review may get more attention to address future transactions for others than me simply stating my experience to the company in private. Had the damage not been there (ignored prior to shipping) this would have been a very different review. I would not buy this product again. ... show more

    • Much needed DIY Weekend warrior garage tool chest

The media could not be loaded. I have been searching for a tool chest to take my tools from different boxes and plastic containers and organize in my garage. Since my garage is small this toolbox needed to have a small foot print. Since I lock my garage the security was not a deal breaker but this Iron Max has thick bars to keep my contents locked up not from thieves but from friends & family who have occasionally borrowed but forget to mention it was taken. ++ I appreciate the slit on the top right hand side of the cabinet that I can slide and store the red cabinet locking bar when not in use. The metal is thin which makes this entire chest lightweight to carry. I can fit my fingertips into the two side handles. I may place some rubber fuel hose with a slit and gorilla glue into the handle to increase the grip but I do not see myself carry this chest often. When the large box arrived on the box I was afraid it was small in height but learned after unboxing that I had to remove four screws and then open the cabinet door to reveal the top 4 drawer tool chest. No part of the chest was dented and that is contributed to all the packaging protection. To assemble only to use 4 bolts washers and locking spring per caster, and finish with installing the side tool shelf that can also be used as a handle for moving. The door has a pegboard inside and included a few swoop hooks. For this price point this chest saves me funds to purchase additional tools. The media could not be loaded. Very thin material and cheap. Much smaller than anticipated especially for the price. A descent box if your just starting out or to get for your kids. If you have more than a few tools this isn't it. Drawers are short and shallow. Half my socket wrenches are too big to fit and catch when opening. ... show more
