  • Excellent noise cancellation, great case, comfortable and stay in well
Color: Hazel Style: Buds Only
This is my second set. The first gen actually stayed in my ear better, but the wing tips would sometimes tickle that part of my ear when in for awhile. These stay in great, unless I am working out at the gym such as facing down doing flys or some other exercise. I love the case. I have tested and researched all the other top brands and the pixel case is easily the best (by far). Comfortable, perfect size and easy operation. The buds are easy to put in the case for charging, etc. The noise cancelation is great. I am writing this from a very noisy coffee shop. Popped them in and long tap for noise cancelation. wow. The background music comes through and most of the chatter and crying babies are muted. I would love to see a firmware update to make it a little quieter though. The sound quality of music and voices is excellent. Bass is rich and sound is immersive. The voice calls are excellent. I hear callers clearly and they hear me without background voices or noise. I can work anywhere and do zoom calls from anywhere! These really are a life improvement for my lifestyle. Thanks google engineers and designers. Remember, let's see that firmware update to make 'em a little better noise canceling for 6 stars. ... show more

  • Great sound, easy to pair, worth the price.
Color: Hazel Style: Buds Only
I've been putting off buying new ear buds for a while, but my old Bose QuietControl 30 earbuds (bought in 2019 and until recently, worn every day since then) are showing their age and a lot of wear. After much deliberation I pulled the trigger on a set of Pixel Buds Pro 2, since I already own a Pixel 7 Pro, and I am NOT disappointed. Not only is the sound quality on par with (and in some cases like handling heavy bass, better) the Bose earbuds, the fit and comfort is better, and the lack of a neck yoke is amazing. On sound quality, at the default EQ setting the Pixel Buds produce clear, balanced audio with crisp highs, balanced midrange and punchy but not overwhelming bass. On the "Heavy Bass" EQ setting, they produce even punchier bass, without sacrificing the highs and mids (Unlike the QC30 which just lowered the volume of everything else on a hard bass hit to avoid distortion) The Pixel Buds also don't seem to show any signs of distortion even at uncomfortably high volumes. Call sound quality is also REALLY good. I can hear the other party clearly, and the ANC keeps outside noises out of both my ears and the outgoing call audio, which is also clear and easy to understand for the other party. The gestural controls on the buds were super easy to get used to (as opposed to the physical buttons on the QC30) and the automatic conversation mode seems to work pretty well, automatically pausing the music and turning on Transparency Mode when I start talking. They were super easy to pair with my Windows Desktop as well, and most all of the gestural controls are supported by Windows, though I wish they supported multipoint pairing so that I could use them with both my phone and computer simultaneously. The case for them is my only other gripe. Its rounded shape and silky smooth finish make it kind of hard to keep ahold of for me, and I'm sure I'm going to lose it or one of the earbuds at some point. Hopefully the Find My Device network holds up enough for me to recover them if that happens. All in all, I think that the price is a little high, but they are overall worth it. We'll see how the ANC and listening time holds up for them. And overall durability, though I won't be using them as much as I did the QC30, which I was wearing every day at work for 8-10 hours per day as I used to work in an industrial manufacturing facility and there was a large compressor and tools running all the time. ... show more

  • Best ear buds in years
Color: Peony Style: Buds Only
I am very active, and outside of the original Apple Airpods, nothing stays in my ear as I am working out. It gets really annoying having to hunt down one of your buds after it falls out mid-run or workout set. Not to mention, when you bend down to pick the bud up, the other falls out somewhere. I have had all of Apple's AirPods and Google's Pixel Buds and these have been the only ones with the exchangeable ear piece that I have not fallen out randomly. I have even tried to make them come out, but they stay snug and secure. I attribute this to the reduced mass and the wing that locks in the ear. For this alone, Google get 5 stars. The sound quality is good. I am an audiophile and my home setup costs as much as some cars. I have yet to find ANY earbud, or even over-the-ear wireless headphones for under $1,000 that put out impressive quality. Even if you found the perfect wireless headset, you still have to contend with compression on most streaming services. Even if you use a steaming service with lossless audio options, many phones are just starting to have Bluetooth that is capable of streaming to the headset uncompressed, so you have done all of that for nothing. That being said, the music has bass, is clear, and does the job of a $200 earbud well. Most people will probably think highly of the quality. The noise cancellation is good. Not as good as the Airpod Pros but it still drowns out most of the distractions. If you have an Android phone then the seamless integration and features make it the only pair of buds I would consider. The ability to detect conversation and even translation works well, so I am not constantly pausing my music when my wife is talking to me at the gym. These are smaller than their predecessor and the weight difference may be small but it is noticeable. The bass is a little improved and I have yet to push the boundaries of battery life. ... show more
