I was skeptical at first but really put them to the test by following the instructions and then placing one into an airtight container of brown sugar that was ROCK HARD. And within about 20 min the sugar was soft and like it was brand new! It’s now been about a month and every time I go to use that same sugar it’s PERFECT every time! Bought this to utilize in my brown sugar and light brown sugar containers that I have. They are airtight containers, but the sugar had still started to harden. I soaked these in clean water for 20 minutes before utilizing, and I blot them dry just a bit before adding them into the container, just to ensure that they would be good to go. I found that they definetly help revitalize my brown sugars, and they became a lot softer. However, there was a decent chunk around the actual terracotta that had hardened, and it had also turned the sugar white. My brown sugar inevitably gets hard and I end up scraping it out of the canister in order to make a cup or whatever. These little clay disks do the job. Every time I use brown sugar I re-wet the disk and my scraping days are over.
