I can't emphasis enough, this is a very fine, 1mm gold chain. Very fine meaning, it's probably too dainty and thin to be enjoyed by most men, unless you're like me and like the accessory, but want it weightless. The chain can be adjusted to three different lengths between 17" and approx 20" by using the three attached lobster claw clasps placed in mm intervals. PRO: Chain is delicate, not chunky. It looks nice as is, but will definitely look better with a charm or pendant on it. 3 “loops” at the back allows you to adjust it for different lengths & different neck sizes. Lobster claw clasp is very secure. Chain comes in a velvet pouch + a box nice enough for gifting. CON: Lobster claw clasp is stiff & difficult to open far enough to get it securely hooked in the loop end. It’s hard to get the clasp’s “tooth” pulled back if you have long(ish) fingernails. It’s really hard if you have arthritis in your fingers/hands. The chain is so delicate I worry it will snap if it catches on something. Versatile. Recommend. ... show more

This is a really nice everyday gold chain necklace. It’s super dainty and perfect for layering. I’m also pleasantly surprised with how secure and sturdy it is given its very thin, delicate appearance. I’m not gentle with anything, most of all my jewelry. Seriously, I put it through the wringer. I’m very much a put it on and never take it off kind girl. I’ve been wearing this one and another longer version also from this brand since I got them months ago and there are no signs of wear. I shower in it, work out in it, slather myself in lotion and am not precious about avoiding it….still looks perfect. They do knot at the end behind the clasp if you use the shorter link options, so keep an eye out for that. Definitely also note…it is not pure 14k gold. It’s gold filled. Which is totally fine and an excellent alternative if you’re looking for something nice but more reasonably priced. But the fact that it’s not included in the titling of the product feels misleading and that is one of my biggest pet peeves. Sure, it’s in the listing if you hunt for it. And yeah, given the reasonable price, it was a safe assumption anyway. So be up front about the makeup of the product and don’t bury it. This is a Very fine, thin, chain and beautifully made, but not worth the price. A quick trip to the jeweler placed the value at $20-$25, despite the nice box and flannel snap bag included.

This gold filled chain is “nice” I honestly feel like I want to give it four stars versus five. But then I worry that it’s just my personal opinion versus the actual quality of the chain. I guess the other thing you have to take into consideration is that gold is very expensive right now. I don’t know how much it would cost if you bought this chain in 14 karat gold. It does feel like $80 is a little pricey for this necklace. It is super fine, but it feels like it’s fairly strong. The clasp doesn’t feel like that good quality. It feels stiff. It’s nice that the necklace’s length is adjustable. But at the same time you need to be aware that if you have a smaller bale, it might not fit around the extenders. You should be OK the rings aren’t that large. The color is nice. It isn’t too brassy. I think I was just expecting it to be a little nicer for $80. I almost feel like if I’m going to spend $80 I might research how much a solid 14 karat gold necklace would be. ... show more

This chain has a delicate but classic look. And it actually seems pretty strong given how thin it is. The clasp is solid and the option to adjust the length is absolutely great. The color and shine on this piece will definitely catch the light and sparkle. Overall it is a very pretty necklace. And of course this is all going to come down to personal taste. The webpage lists this as a necklace for men or for women but I was expecting this to be a bit thicker than pictured and , as a man, I personally would not wear anything this thin. But it looks fantastic on my female relative. Also being that it is "gold filled" versus gold I find the pricing for our area is a bit high. Thicker chains are selling in this price point in my neck of the woods where the finer chains are less. But I also must allow for the current strong market for gold. So this is where the personal choice comes in. A beautiful looking and solidly made necklace at this price may be exactly what you are looking for. And if so then I highly recommend this necklace. I am very confident that you can't buy a solid gold chain at this price in today's market. ... show more
