Having never made soap before, I was excited to make my first ones. The reviews on this made it look pretty clear-cut and that it was a quality product. I do think for the most part that that is correct, but I initially "over heated" the first batch and it didn't turn out as I expected. There were no instructions in/on the bag, so I heated it for 30 seconds on high, and then would stir it and repeat. It ended up boiling over. Not good! It made the finished product cloudy and it started setting too soon. The second batch I still did 30 second intervals but alternated between 30-40% power. It obviously took longer, but that batch was MUCH better, although it too set sooner than anticipated. This caused the top side of the soap to be cloudy and somewhat mottled. Given this final experience, I think I'll try a different product before I order this again. In the picture - the top is from the first batch; the middle is from the second; the bottom is from the second batch and is turned over. ... show more

My first time doing this, and the soap was ready to heat and pour. The soap came out so nice! Because it is in little cubes and so soft, was easy to melt quickly.

Easy to melt, I add my own essential oils, flowers too and makes a lovely organic homemade soap leaving your hands soft. My husband loves the soaps I make from this product. A must have if you make your own soap.

very convenient because it comes cut into small pieces, it is crystal clear, but it is like gum if you have to melt it again

We used these for a class project, and they were amazing! Easy to use and quickly set, so we didn't need to wait too long to explore and use the finished project. Would absolutely recommend!

Easy to use in small chunks. If you follow the instructions properly your finished product will not be cloudy. My soap project came out clear and professional looking. No problems and very easy to melt and use. My relative who was making some along with me would not estimate how much to melt at a time. She would melt too much; therefore to prevent waste...she would ADD a few more chunks...and remelt. I noticed that her bars tended to be cloudy where mine were clear. So..try not to remelt the pieces. Also watch the melting process. I did not let mine foam or bubble..she allowed hers to bubble up. Perhaps this caused her project to be cloudy. I plan to buy again and have a "soap" party. ... show more
