These Amanda jeans have become my go-to jeans. I love the fit, the comfort, and just how well they hold up over time. I'm an older woman who has been on a significant weight-loss journey, and these jeans have been with me through multiple sizes. The slight stretch has made the transition much more comfortable, and the high-rise waistband provides great coverage without feeling restrictive. I'm also only five feet tall, so finding petite jeans that actually fit well can be a challenge. These have been one of the best-fitting pairs I've found. I recently tried this style of jeans from Gloria Vanderbilt. I really like how they feel and how they fit, but they are a bit big in my waist. That's because I have the classic pear shape. I'm currently at 170 lbs and 5' 8.5'', so I like the fit of size 14. The extra room in the waist will allow me to tuck in my shirt or blouse, maybe even a lightweight sweater, which I would not try until having recently lost enough weight to do so. This huckleberry color is a really nice shade of red. It's kind of a cool wine color. I won't be saving them for just the holidays since they aren't Christmas red, thankfully. I'll be able to wear a lot of my prints and solids with this color. Yay! The length is great for me and though the legs are considered "tapered", they aren't that skin tight look of skinny jeans. My knees tend to be thick, even when I'm thin, so the fit looks much better on me than any skinny jean. And they aren't that awful wide leg that seems to be "the" trend right now. I’ve been wearing Amanda jeans for ages and normally buy them locally so I can see them and feel them before paying for them. They’re different, depending on where they’re made. Different manufacturers use different methods and this can make a huge difference in how they fit. There are parameters for sizing and some manufacturers are generous with the fabric, using the highest parameters so that the jeans will be more comfortable and fit more women properly. Others who seek higher profits get greedy with the fabric and they try to use as little as possible. The jeans made by those manufacturers are as tight as they’re allowed to be and as short as they’re allowed to be, so that the greedy manufacturers can make more jeans with less fabric. I used to see huge discrepancies in Kohl’s stores, depending on where jeans were sewn together. Saleswomen explained why and I was later able to confirm this through research. I’ve had lots of Amanda jeans that fit perfectly and lasted for many years. I’ve also been stuck with some that felt creepy and that were too short. Many petite and short Amanda jeans fit me perfectly, like they were made for me. Others made me feel like I was wearing someone else’s clothes. Ordering them online is taking a chance that you’ll get stuck with some that feel creepy or that are too short. You can always return them if necessary, or you can donate them as many women do when they find some that feel better. If you get a good pair, you’ll probably wear them for many years and spend countless hours trying to find more just like them. That’s what women in local stores are often doing when they search through piles of Amanda jeans for a perfect pair. I used to help them search while I was searching for my own. When we found the right ones, made by the right manufacturer, we bought as many as the store had available. Every time. This particular pair is shorter than my others like it and it runs tight for its size, but I can use these jeans at home for situations where I don’t want them dragging on or too near the ground. Some of my previously purchased petite and short Amanda jeans are as long, or longer, than my regular length Amanda jeans. You never know for sure until you see them in person and try them on. The fabric of this pair feels different, like they’ve been washed in hard water for years. They have a scratchy feel that my other Amanda jeans didn’t have when they were new. Companies started using cheaper fabrics and there’s probably not much we can do about that as long as people are willing to keep buying them. When you find your perfect fit of Amanda jeans, you’ll wonder how you ever felt comfortable wearing jeans without them. They’re life changers. But a pair that doesn’t fit as it should will be a drag. It’s probably safer to check labels in a local store and try them on so you can determine which country makes the kind that fits your body best. Then you’ll know what I mean. I still remember discovering my first pair. I loved them and wore them as often as possible until I could get more. They have polyester, which is hot in summer, so I can only wear them during cooler months. The ones without polyester tend to run a little tighter, so it’s best to try them on before buying. They come in some really pretty colors and they last for years if you launder them carefully. They’re a good deal when you can catch them on sale. I never pay full price for them. ... show more

These are excellent jeans. They are comfortable, sit well at my waist, and have just enough stretchiness not to bind when I sit down. Best of all, they have real pockets that I can get my whole hand into, not some dinky things so small that I have to worry about whatever I put in there (keys) falling out. They do ride up at the ankles a little when I sit down so my socks show, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Their one drawback is that the back pockets could be deeper; my phone sticks out quite a bit, and while it hasn't fallen out while wearing them, when I push them down for personal ablutions it usually does.
