I bought this because of the german technology of the feathers being fused with fiber. When you get the comforter you do need to make sure you shake it out, you will see a bit of feather dust (no worries, this is normal), and if you hold it up to the light you will see that almost 99.9 percent of the feathers are white. This is what it should be. The dark feathers are not good, and you barely see any. It is great to sleep under. I run hot, and with the AC, I am loving it, and rarely kick it off. Absolutely love this comforter. It holds it's shape, not too heavy or light. It does crunch a big but not to a point of annoyance. I put a duvet over it and it is perfect. I puchased a king and it fits great too.

If the instructions are followed when you receive the comforter are followed - let it air out, fluff it out - the comforter gets really nice and fluffy. It has a nice weight to it as well. Upon receiving I laid it out on my bed so it could fluff up. I had to go through and manually fluff but after that it was perfect. The material seems to be good quality. The tie downs seem to be stitched well. I did notice while it was still in its sealed bag there seemed to be some dark colored impurities in the insulation. Nothing I see as a problem but I did think it was interesting. Would buy again ... show more

I am overall very happy with this comforter. It was delivered on time, (after I called and complained about the delay!) and came nicely packaged. It came with a duffel bag - not sure why as I am not going to be traveling with it, but I guess if I quit using it, it will be a nice to store the comforter in. It is light weight and looks very nice. I thought it would be a little "puffier." According to the description and the directions that came with it, once you remove it from the sealed bag, shake it (or put it in a commercial drier) and let it sit for a day or two and it will puff up, but after several days it is about half as thick as the picture shows. Not a big deal and definitely not worth going to a laundry mat to put it in a commercial drier. I did end up using a duvet cover to protect it. The comforter replaced two quilts, and it is still warm. And, yes, dog hair brushes right off! UPDATE: After having the comforter on the bed for a while longer it has puffed up. I am very happy and have changed my rating to 5 stars. I am considering on buying another set for my guest room bed. ... show more
