Based on the Q&A, someone mentioned that the calf was not wide. That was great for me and inspired my purchase. However they are wide and they do measure at least 16 and a 1/2 inches. So they (size 7.5) are a little baggy on my calves that measure 13.25" with thin pants. Also, buckles are not exactly silver. They are gun metal. Just in case that matters. They are a handsome boot for the price. I got them at 39.89 and they've gone down a few $ since. And I put insoles in most of my shoes because I'm on my feet a lot. Ironically, the foot is a little narrow in comparison to the calf, so not sure the insole inserts will be that comfortable initially. May have to break them in 1st.
