Works well indoors if using a pi you need a 3a or 15w power supply

I struggled and struggled with this on a raspberry pi I have the older version bn-353-s4 it works well indoors as well and works out the box on my pi, this newer version must take a bit more power and wouldn't work on my 2a or 10w power supply even though the s4 did. Swapped to a 15w worked right away it also always worked on my laptop which is what made me think it was power. I use this with gpsd and chrony for S1 time server. ... show more

After having to restart it on a weekly basis it gave out

Functionally dead after a month. Powers on and the USB interface appears, but the GPS section outputs no data, so it is functionally dead and useless as a GPS source.

Works well with Windows 7 and 10

Bought this GPS to work on various Window computers. Worked with version 7 and 10 but can not get it to find satellites with Windows 11. Loaded the driver and set the com port and baud rate like in the Windows 7 and 10 machines but it will not sync to any satellites with 11. Product description said it worked with 7, 10 and 11, but not on my computer. Will keep trying. ... show more

I hooked this up to my HP Pro Tablet 10 with Windows 8.1 and it worked great. I use it for Microsoft Streets & Trips. I did download the driver installer from the manufacturer's web site as instructed in the directions that came with it. Then I just had to select the right COM port in Streets & Trips.
