I've had my four-pack for all of a day, but am pleasantly surprised. I felt I was taking a chance in buying these, but am happy to report all four fired up right out of the box and simply WORK. NOTE: at first boot, you'll see a QR code that makes it look like it's not activated. Let it sit for a minute or two, and the radio will connect to the cellular network. I handed one radio off to a friend (we are both amateur radio operators, so have an interest in this stuff - he also ordered four!), and we tested just around our city. The experience was very good. The audio definitely has a digital sound to it. When we use digital modes on our ham radios, we joke that we sound drunk; these have a similar effect, but less pronounced. I'm overall very excited about using these on road trips. We have a special needs daughter who lives across town and can't have her own phone (although she can use the house phone). She'll get one of these to be able to call us whenever she wants. I'm sure we'll come up with other use cases. I truly hope the SIM card activation is lifetime as described. Time will tell!

Solid piece of technology. However, what makes it stand out is truly outstanding customer service. Be advised that said customer service is in on the otherside of the world and communication is facilitated via WhatsApp. Nonetheless, they are quick to respond and exceptional at helping set up the radios exactly the way you request establishing groups and populating your contacts by associating other radios with people to whom you give said radios. Great support is exceedingly rare these days and this company goes above and beyond. Moreover, I received my order a day prior to their projected delivery date. I highly recommend them.

This is NOT a real walkie talkie. It uses the cellular grid and requires cellular service. In short, it operates exactly like the old Nextel/Boost mobile phone walkie talkies. This will NOT work in remote areas or any place where there aren’t a lot of cell towers. So to those of you who thought this was for when SHTF, or if you wanted to do real wilderness off the grid camping/hiking — these are ineffective. They are simply phones that imitate walkie talkies; just like the *chirp* *chirp* “Boost mobile, wya” phones back in the day.

The radios came in pre programmed. Set up.and start up was as easy as turning them on. Adding radios to a group is very easy by going through the settings (very self explanatory). We have them spread out over 150 miles and they have worked flawlessly. I'm very pleased with these radios.
