i was fairly skeptical as i received this as a gift. I havent played sax in years but always talked about getting back into it. This thing actually is built quite well. I am able to get all the notes in tune, everything feels sturdy and smooth, and overall it sounds pretty decent. I would definitely throw away the reeds that come with it, they arent worth even trying. as soon as i got some real reeds, it played fantastic. Extremely happy with this purchase. This was my first ever alto saxophone and i recommend it. When you but this alto get separate reeds since the ones that come are not the best (rico and juno are reeds i recommend at a 2.5 for beginners.) I have had this for about 8 months now and it is in a good condition. The saxophone does scrape off a bit but it is not noticeable from far. Please make adjustments such as sanding down the airway because you will be flat if you don’t sand it down. I have been playing bari sax for 3 years and i added an alto to my collection. It is at a good price and everything out of all of them i have found. recommend 100% ... show more

As far as quality goes, you really get what you pay for, but this sax definitely surprised me and wears better than I expected. The body feels sturdy, the carving is gorgeous, and I didn’t see any flaws in the paint. The neck felt a little cheap and the pad for the octave key hole is off center but covers just fine. I did not receive the other 9 reeds, only the one that came already in the mouthpiece, but it seemed cheap and just encourages me to buy better ones. Everything else arrived in the box as stated. I played for 8 years in school and haven’t touched one in about 6 years, so I wanted a beginner instrument, and this one sounds great I’ve been picking it up like I never stopped playing. Overall, worth the money and a great sounding instrument. Recommend highly for beginners or those who want to get back into it after a long hiatus. ... show more

First of all I’m really pleased that I received a week before the estimated date. Second of all this saxophone is amazing ! I used to play the tenor saxophone back in high school and wanted to get back in playing the saxophone. I decided to get an alto this time and I’m not disappointed. I’m starting all over again in learning the notes and all but I gotta say I remembering more than what I excepted. The sound of this saxophone sounds so beautiful and it’s craftsmanship just amazing. You definitely get more than what you pay for. Anyone who is starting off as a beginner or getting back into playing the sax, I recommend you to get this sax. The only thing that I was bummed about was there was only 1 reed instead of 10 but still worth the buy !! ... show more

The saxophone is visually appealing (got the black one) but the sound is not as good as it could be. The horn I recieved had a broken bracket on the lower keygaurds which exposed metal. Ended up returning and got my money back without having to send it back, which was REALLY surprising. I wound up shelfing it and buying a Jean Paul AS-400 which is infinitely better. Only buy this if it's a kid in band who wants to do saxophone for a year or so. If you're an adult, buy at your own risk, know that it won't be the best.
