I wasn’t in the market for another bass. Already had three solid bodies and two matching acoustic electrics. This was tempting, though. Beautiful natural wood finish. No silly pickguard covering half the wood. Full scale, a must. Dual pickups and controls like a jazz bass. They don’t mention it, but it is two full octaves. Even comes with nickle-plated strings so I didn’t have to change them out. Totally tempting, but. Then I saw the weight and had to do a double take. 8.14 pounds, counting the styrofoam inserts and shipping box. Puts the guitar around 6 pounds. Barely more than an acoustic. Absolutely had to get it and glad I did. Yeah, the frets are sharp enough that I’ll need to file them. Back of the neck needs to be finish sanded and sealed. Oiled the fret-board and been chasing the action. Electronics are nothing special, but work alright. Accessories are factory so-so. But the action was perfect out of the box and the guitar itself looks even better in person than the pictures. Beautiful. But best of all is the light weight. This is the kind of instrument that makes you just want to pick it up and play. It has become my first choice solid body. Two notes. I’ve had it for half a year and everything still works fine. And, I’ve read horror stories about instruments arriving broken, so definitely get it with the Amazon return protection. Other than that, it’s a good deal and I’m totally satisfied. Long live basswood.

First, I'll admit that my background is with classical guitar, not electric bass, but I purchased this learn the instrument. The guitar is truly impressive for the price point. Very nice finish. Solid feel. Reasonably good electronics. The body is basswood making the guitar much lighter than higher end instruments, but I don't have any problems with neck droop. The bolt-on neck itself is straight and the frets are smooth. The finish on the guitar is glossy, but the finish on the back of the neck is satin to allow faster left hand movement. The tuners are suprisingly smooth for a low-cost instrument and allow fine adjustments. It came with a lightweight gig bag, nylon strap, amp cable and allen wrenches. You'll need a couple of Philips screwdrivers and a small wrench too if you want to change any settings or tighten potentiometers. The gig bag is just thin nylon, but it's good enough to transport the guitar short distances. I didn't like the nylon strap, so I upgraded to a cotton one I found on Amazon. The guitar I received needed a little more neck bow, which I was able to modify using the included wrench. You'll need a jewelers Philips screwdriver to remove the truss rod cover. The action was also extremely high at 3.5mm at the 12th fret. I lowered it to 2.0mm to be closer to an accoustic guitar, but experienced bass players might want it higher. Lowering the action and setting intonation was fairly easy on the bridge. Again, you'll need a Philips screwdriver to change intonation. If you don't know what any of this means, take it to a guitar shop for adjustment. The sound is very good for a low cost instrument. My guitar teacher compared it to his high end bass, and after a few tweaks of the pots, and was also impressed with the sound and build quality. He was also happy with the action and string response. The seller, Glarry Music, has been extremely responsive. The shipping company misplaced the first guitar. Glarry apologized and immediately sent me a replacement. They will send me a return label for the first guitar for when, and if, it appears. My only concern with this purchase is the packaging. The cheap cardboard box and styrofoam enclosure was nearly split in two when it arrived. Fortunately, the guitar was just fine. This guitar won't immediately make you sound like Jaco Pastorius, Stanley Clarke or Flea, but I think you'll be impressed. Go to Glarry Music's website and watch the pros play this guitar and you'll definitely be sold. I'll update this review in the future if I run into problems, but at first glance I think my $125 was extremely well spent. NOTE: I did not receive any compensation or free products for this review. I paid the full $125 list price on Amazon. I despise the paid reviews as they are always positive and I wish Amazon would ban them.

I don't know what more to say other than, for the price, this is a definite deal! I purchased this purely for home recording and I am happy with it. It looks really nice, is surprisingly light and sounds pretty decent in recordings, a little muddy perhaps but that's easily fixed with an EQ The only thing I noticed was a couple of the pots produced a bit of noise if turned on full, but turning them back just a fraction immediately removed the noise. The pots also don't seem to adjust the sound particularly smoothly - it takes a few extra tweaks before any change in sound is noticed, but for this price it's really not a big deal at all. There is also no toggle between the neck and bridge pickups - it's all done through the pots. But again, it's certainly not a deal breaker when you're spending less than $100, in fact it's amazing that it even has 2 pickups to choose from! Straight out of the box this bass played well, other than needing to be tuned it didn't need to have anything else done to it. The action is low enough without causing buzz, I didn't notice any intonation issues - honestly, I'm so surprised that a bass at this price actually works relatively well!

I am very happy with the finish of this guitar. I couldn't find a flaw anywhere and the sound is totally acceptable. The POTS are low quality with little range, but 99% of the people who buy this instrument will leave them maxed out anyway so they are not a big deal. The tuners aren't great but they are good enough, and easy to replace if needed. I've heard a few complaints about the neck being a bit chunky. I don't think it is but I have big hands so you'll need to consider that if it is going to someone with small hands. I'm going with 4 stars because the fretboard looks like wood from an orange crate that was sanded and dyed to look like Rosewood. I have several guitars with Rosewood boards and this is not the same by any stretch of the imagination. Frets are good and smooth with no noticeable fret sprout\sharp edges. The nut is plastic. I'd rather have a bone nut but the plastic is fine for a beginner, and it helps keep the cost down. As you've probably read elsewhere, it is neck heavy due to the exceptionally light body. The neck needs a setup but I won't knock the guitar for that. Any new guitar should have a full setup done anyway. Overall, this is still a huge bargain. It looks great and sounds really nice, and anything better would cost considerably more. I totally recommend Glarry for anyone of any age wanting to learn bass guitar.

I have played the violin for many years and recently decided to pick up the bass for fun. I didn’t want an expensive instrument because I don’t know enough to justify the expense. This bass suits me perfectly. It looks great and the sound quality is fine. I have not found that there are any shortcomings with the instrument that might keep me from learning: it holds tune well, the action is fine, and nothing feels weird or awkward. I took it to a friend who plays multiple instruments in a band, and he was surprised at the quality for the price. He also noted that it was very light; I don’t know enough about basses to judge that, but I’ll take his word for it. I will probably move up to a higher quality bass some day, but for now this is great for my musical exploration and education. There are a couple of things a buyer might want to change. The strap is very basic and cheap, and I’m going to search for a better one (and one that looks cooler). The pick that comes with the bass is flimsy, so I got some better ones—this might not be an issue if you’re planning to pluck, but I need to follow my bass idol Simon Gallup and use the pick.

This guitar surprised me. Maybe because my expectations were lower? Let me just say, I bought a squier bass the same time as this one, and returned the squier because it was so poorly put together. I ordered another squier to replace it, and it wasn't much better. This Glarry had no fret problems, neck and body look and feel great, and fit and finish was on par with a fender or Ibanez. I made some needed adjustments, tuned it, and have been enjoying this bass for months now.

Seems like a decent product, minor imperfections in the Finish. For the price it's not bad, not bad for a beginner bass, and it is very light. There was a little bit of trickery in the listing, because this was listed at a lower price, but the same guitar different finish had free shipping and I didn't notice so they both ended up being the same price. So if it wasn't for having divots in the Finish and misleading advertisement I would have given it five stars.

Granted, if you compare this to a Dingwall, Warwick or any other big brand, yeah this is gonna lose, but take a view on who is buying these, beginners on a budget. The finish is great, plays quite well, stays in tune very well! Its insanely light, and sounds quite good! Only complaint I have is a very few frets on it were sticking out just enough for me to feel, but, othr than that, it is quite a nice bass! Best for those who wanna dip their toes in, but unsure if they'll like it. I've had this bass for quite a few years, and I have had zero problems with it! Definitelly recommend for those who want something cheap and they are new!
