I usually wear an XL, so I bought this in an XL. It was just too small. I exchanged it for an XXL. While it fits, I feel like after a big dinner it'll be too tight. I really do love this skirt and it is close (but no cigar) as far as measurements go. The seller says to allow 1-2cm difference in measurements from size chart since it's handmade. Which I totally get since I sew for a living. My waist is 39" and so per the size chart I ordered the 3XL. This skirt was 40" plus a scootch so it didn't sit exactly where I needed it to to be comfortable. The length is fairly close to the sizing chart so that's a plus. I'm NOT a superfan of the lining being 5" shorter than the skirt. An inch or two I could see, but in the black color with my pasty-pale legs, it's NOT a good look. I'm returning this so I can get a smaller size and hopefully I'll luck out with a good fit on the next one because the lace is really high quality. Should I get a good fit in the waist, I'll be hemming it slightly to deal with the differential between the lining length and outer fabric length. Edited review: I just received the 2XL and tried it on. It's only 2+" too big in the waist. Third time's the charm? Hopefully? I really love this skirt.
