I got this SD card because I, like so many other gamers that use Nintendo switch had come up against its lack of internal memory storage. So depending on the games you play, you could end up only being able to really keep one game downloaded on it at a time. And if you’ve got kiddos that also like to borrow (steal) your switch then that can cause for a lot of discord. So then you really have one of two options. You can buy another switch (cue bank account quietly weeping in the background) or you can get an SD card (bank account still weeping but less profoundly). I was really hesitant at first, because I’m not a gamer who knows how to modify consoles or do fancy things that don’t end up in said gaming system being absolutely defunct and useless leaving me weeping over its remains like an inconsolable Victorian widow. And OK, sure, so maybe putting a memory card into something isn’t exactly rewiring the circuitboard, but knowing my luck the effect would be the same. After doing some research and finding out much to my relief that pretty much any SD card can be used to expand memory in a switch. And after asking at a game stop and being frankly horrified at the price of their “recommended card”, I did a little digging online and found a much bigger amount of storage for a good deal cheaper than what the game store was offering. As with anything game related, and well, I guess anything that you’re going to look at buying in general I obsessively scoured the reviews and found this one to be the most promising. It felt a little pricey, but since I am apparently unable to want to play any games that don’t require your mortal soul for the price of the memory storage that it needs I decided to give it a try. It came safely packaged, and the installation was actually not really scary at all. Pretty straightforward. It didn’t need to be ‘installed’ really, and as soon as it was in I was able to save a game directly to it. It’ll give you the option when you go to save or download something to save it to the external memory source (the sd card). I am extremely happy with it, it has a great amount of memory storage. I was able to get all of my games back onto it. And I’ve still got room to spare. As somebody that still plays Fortnite occasionally those updates do not play around with how much memory they need. And it’s been able to take all the updates so far. I’m not gonna list every game I’ve got on there, but for a taste to give an idea of how much memory it offers, I have Fortnite, dead by daylight, Stardew valley, and several Mario games all downloaded and up to date and I still have plenty of room for more! I have definitely also noticed that having that extra memory has made it run smoother with less lagging and glitches or the fan kicking into over drive. Especially in games like Fortnite and dead by daylight where lags can be pretty problematic. So for the price and the amount of storage it is 100% worth it if you don’t already have an SD card that works for you. Shipping was quick came in a good package like I said, and it works great. So I would definitely recommend this if you’re looking to expand your memory on your switch so that you don’t have to keep rotating what games you keep downloaded and installed! ... show more

I decided to download a new game on my Switch the other month and, after purchasing on the online store, was told I didn't have enough space to download and install. "No problem," I thought - and proceeded to delete every installed game from my system. When I went back to start the download on a completely empty console, I got another error saying that the game exceeded the storage capacity of my entire HD. A micro SD storage expansion was needed. Now I have more space than I'll likely ever need. No problems at all recognizing the card, no errors and no compatibility issues after about a month of use.
