    • Fragile, but still a good gift for grandparents
The tree itself is made of acrylic, and the base and hearts are both wood (like the type of wood that you'd find at a craft store). The branches of the tree, especially the thinner ones at the top, feel delicate; they'd be easy to break if you're not careful. The adhesive dots worked well to stick the hearts to the tree. Because of how thin some of the branches are, some of the hearts can feel a little "loose" after sticking, because they have less surface area to stick to. But they will stick, and will stay just fine if you're not pulling on them (which you shouldn't be doing anyway, as this is a display item; I just fiddled around with them to make sure they were secure). I put ours together before gifting, so that all Grandma had to do was insert the tree into the base. I also printed the names onto clear stickers instead of writing them, because my handwriting is atrocious. It looks like most people write the names on (no marker or pen is included; that hardly feels like an important factor to me, but just noting it in case it matters to anyone else). You get plenty of hearts too, so you can always store the extras somewhere in case you need to add more to the tree at a later date. I love this idea so much, the personalized end product is definitely display worthy with so much more behind this whether a gift of not. All the peices are a hard yet thin wood, plenty of hearts to write on and they easily stick to tree with two sided sticky dots. I am happy with the quality and would recommend. ... show more

This family tree kit is so cute. I've been wanting a family tree kit to put all the names and birthdates of my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren on. This family tree kit has enough hearts for all of them. The quality of the parts is good and the only thing you need is something to write the names on with. Everything else is included. One side of the bottle plate and the hearts is a raw wood and the other is white. You can use either side. I like the raw wood side myself. The sticky tabs are really nice, are easy to use, and they stick really well. I love the idea of this. But I put 24 names on my tree I got for my mom for Christmas, and it looks so cheap. It is very hard to put the tree in the base. Infact the base split around the cut-out hole in a couple of places. The tree itself is really pretty. It is a glossy black.

I gave this to my mom and dad for the holiday and they absolutely loved it! The only issue i had with it was that its hard to put into the base unless you peel back the paper on the tree first then it fits easily. That was my only complaint.
