We haven't tested our mats with brutal judo throws/falls but the cushion absorbs standing "breakfalls" well. The material seems durable but haven't tested it against cuts and am trying not to! Seems like, if I left it out with a house full of cats it'd survive okay but I prefer not to go there and fold them up after each session. We got the dark blue and yellow and it looks great; a fun upgrade from the standard light blue mats. For the price, for the utility of gym activity at home, this is an outstanding product and I look forward to buying more if I can get into a larger home. ... show more

I ordered this for my granddaughter's 5th birthday. The quality for the price is unbelievable. The minute it was out of the box, almost every child at her party was playing on it. (Most of them have been enrolled in gymnastics for several months.) If you're looking for a quality mat for a very reasonable price, this is the product for you. Only one word of caution. This mat ships directly from Giantex with only one shipping option. Therefore, make certain you leave sufficient time for shipping if you need it by a specific date. It could take up to 2 weeks. I love that this pad is thick enough for me. It doesn't have a lot of give now, I hope that means it will hold up for a long time after continue use. It is large enough that I can keep it folded for most exercises and it will keep me off the floor and I am able to get up without straining. We bought the 4 x 10 mat to go under my daughter's bar. We folded it in half so it's a 4x5x4. It fits perfectly under her bar and is extra thick for added safety. I love the design! The colors match her pink and black bar, and folded it makes a landing zone pattern. We have a different mat that is a 5x10, this mat isn't the same quality, but it's a very good mat! It has handles, Velcro for attatching multiple mats, and folds in 4 sections (making a 2.5x4x8). Folded completely it easily slides under our beam for extra padding when she's working on new skills. Safe space to practice for a 9 and 7 year old. I could see getting more but its large to store. Over all nice spot to practice for a preteen. My 9 year old finally as the confidence to do a walk over with the safety of the gym mat. Before we purchased she was practiceing on the rug and hit her head. That was the last straw. Great texture, better than smoother surfaces for wrestling and grappling. Ours lives next to a Tumbl Trak mat and this one has a slightly softer feel. This one is preferred to the TT, which is great since two larger mats are the same price as one smaller mat from TT. It also gives more Spiderman colors for our future superhero’s half of the gym. I have had my tumbling mat for 2 months, but sadly it ripped when I did a front tuck. I did put duck tape on it to keep it from rippin.I don’t think this is a good product for more advanced tumbling, and don’t think it’s that good of a material.
