For our recent 12-day trip to St. John, we opted to go with Ghostek’s NAUTICAL Slim Waterproof Case, instead of buying a GoPro camera for underwater photography. It was a great decision. And not only did it give us all the waterproofing we needed for snorkeling photography, it kept our phones safe from drops! These are sturdy cases. Two tiny gripes. First, when you buy them, there’s an adhesive patch covering the spot where you unlock the phone with your thumb print. When I took mine off, it left a residue on the screen near that spot. It doesn’t affect the functionality, but I haven’t figured out how to get it off there. Second, The lanyard on my phone (not my wife’s, though) broke. To be fair, I abused it a lot, using it to secure the phone to my wrist while snorkeling. But I should probably get another lanyard. Having said that, I’d STILL highly recommend this case. Bottom line: it does what you need a waterproof case to do. And you have to have a lot of confidence in that waterproof claim before putting your $1,000+ phone into the ocean!     • Fits well, seems sturdy, fingerprint reader works, but reduces phone speaker quality

The phone went in the case well, and it feels like it's going to do a good job protecting my new phone. Time will tell of course. I will update here if I find otherwise...I'm not going to intentionally abuse it for the sake of this review. LOL The fingerprint reader seems to work well enough as long as you remove the round "dot" on the inside of the screen protector. Didn't try it without, but the instructions were pretty clear on that, and there's a yellow flag on the sticker that makes it pretty obvious. The volume and power buttons have a good tactile feel and work well. My only real complaint is that the sound quality of the ear speaker (for talking on the phone) is pretty sad...but I guess that's the trade-off for being waterproof. I can still have a conversation with it, but for longer conversations I'll use Bluetooth headphones...which I generally would do anyway, so not a big deal. The sound out of the base speakers is muted too...but again, it's a trade-off, and if you're going to be picky about sound quality, you shouldn't be using the built in speakers anyway... ...ok, one more complaint...the camera window doesn't have a raised bezel around it, and the window material is relatively soft. I just put a light scratch on it from setting it on my clean desk at work...there should be a bezel or "lip" that lifts the optical cover off the surface it's resting on...I'm going to subtract a star for that...I bought this phone for the cameras and I can see this crippling the cameras in pretty short order...but again, time will tell. The case is a definite upgrade from my prior one. This is thinner, but still feels protective. The screen protector on the front is very responsive, and the fingerprint reader is responsive. It rarely misreads my print. the case has a beveled front, and is easier to type, and read. The buttons on the side are metal and very responsive. The case works extremely well with wireless charging, but has a good opening should you need to use a cable for in-car data transmission for navigation. The camera lenses are also very well protected, and it's easy to keep clean for improved photos. I couldn't be more pleased with this case. ... show more

    • Updated - 6 Months In - Its Still Just Okay

This applies to a Pixel 6 Pro Updated Review---Note to Manufacturer I have been using this case for 6 months now. I have heavily modified this case and now it works for me (not changing my rating because I wish it came with these modifications already - Ghostek, take note - I think you could turn this into a great product.) Mod 1 - I removed the glass cover. The Glass cover is terrible. It takes a beautiful screen and makes it look bad - many people had issues with the fingerprint reader. I did not - but I hated that the fingerprint part creates this dark circle in the center of the screen – very distracting. I cut out the entire screen protector. RATIONALE: What I liked about this case is that it provides good edge protection for the curved screen of the Pixel 6 pro. The edges of the case rise above the screen providing good drop protection. Mod 2 – I removed the plastic covering the camera. RATIONALE: The plastic over the cameras created horrible lines when taking pictures that had lights in them. It was also prone to getting dirty and fingerprints making for bad photos. Again, the case provides good protection in that there is a frame around the cameras with heavy plastic. I have a separate glass protector strip just for the camera that will fit, but I haven’t felt the need to put it on – My pictures look great unobstructed. Mod 3 – To make the case waterproof there are plastic covers over the speaker holes. I cut out protective covering over the speakers. RATIONALE: The Pixel has descent speakers that get muffled by this case. After removing the plastic, the sound was improved. I love the Pixel 6 Pro – but in general I do NOT like curved screens, they are prone to damage and extremely hard to get a good protector on them. My modified version of this case provides the protection I was looking for. I get the beauty of a great screen, great cameras, and great sound with good protection. Original Review--- The case does seem very sturdy, and while the fingerprint reader did not fully set correctly, it did work. However, the case is very bulky and it significantly changes the way the speakers sound. The phone has great speakers and they get muffled by this case. The form factor is not that great. It has a weird beveled edge and its a bit bulky in the pocket. The case shows a ton of finger prints and takes away from the screens natural beauty. I had high hopes for this case, but I don't think I will be keeping this one. ... show more

I have been looking for a good phone case for work that was waterproof, durable, fingerprint compatible and wireless charger compatible. I was so happy to find this bc i has all of that and it comes with multiple stickers for the fingerprint and a squeegee to stick it on properly. I love that i can't really tell to much that it has a built in screen protector and i have already dropped and no damage was done. If i need a new case i will buy fromthem since they are cheaper than otter box and honestly better. ... show more
