This is a great set - you get everything you need, but every part is premium, from the mugs to the snowflake marshmallows. The hot cocoa has that real chocolate taste. ( If you're not dairy-free, I recommend steamed milk) The mugs are handle-less, which encourages you to lift it up with both hands and enjoy it warming your face. To me the really great bonus is the vanilla sugar, which I've never seen in a hot chocolate set before. I made a rim around the mugs with it and it was a big hit. There's enough of each sugar for multiple uses. A problem solver for gifting.

The hot chocolate is great, the mugs not so much. There isn’t a handle on the mugs, which I thought would be a nice feature so you could warm your hands while drinking your hot chocolate. In reality, the mug is too hot to handle and you have to wait for it to cool down.

Ghirardelli Hot Cocoa for Two Gift Set: $34.98 at the time of review Normally I like to add a little bit of a preamble as to why I am searching for and trying a particular product. But in this case, I don't really think I need that much justification for a delicious hot cocoa set, especially one from Ghirardelli. *What I liked*: The set is exactly what I thought it would be. A cute little mug set with a couple packs of hot cocoa, candy canes and included tubes of specialty sugars. It's cute and it would make a great gift (in fact, this seems tailor made to be given as a gift). As for the hot cocoa, it did not disappoint. I've had access to Ghirardelli chocolate directly from the source (whether it be from working in the bay area or having family that lives there) for a long time now, and I love it! I've had their hot cocoa before and this is no different. *What I didn't like*: I wouldn't necessarily consider this a bad thing, but I wasn't sure where else to list it. The cocoa itself is pretty sweet and doesn't need additional sugar. I love the idea of adding cinnamon sugar or vanilla sugar to the cocoa, but I didn't really add enough to make a huge difference in the flavor as I was worried about over sweetening my drink. Kids will most likely love it though. *The Bottom Line:* At the end of the day, I think this would make a great gift set. If you're looking for a cold weather or holiday themed treat for someone, it's hard to go wrong here. While the price at the time of review is a little on the high side (about $35) there are many other more expensive options that don't give you as much bang for your buck. Frankly, I think this is probably worth 4.5 stars, but that nagging value proposition is gonna keep me from rounding it up to five (since we have to round one way or another). So my final score here will be four stars out of five. It's delicious cocoa and if you can find it at a lower price point than $35, then it's a five star item for sure.

There was a box within in a box revealing the gift set for two. It was in good shape, very important for something intended to be given as a gift. The bowtie is a nice touch and the whole presentation is very pretty. The cups, too are very aesthetic, as with the toppings/mix-ins which are super appropriate and pair well with the cocoa. The cocoa is also name brand - Ghiradelli - highly appreciate this. If I had something to nitpick on, there are literally 2 sachets of the hot cocoa. I find this slightly preposterous, it could have come with 4 or something. But it wasn't claiming to have any more than that. Overall, very enjoyable set that gives off good vibes for the upcoming holiday season.
