It’s beautiful. Yes, I realize I can get a less expensive paper towel holder, but I am finishing my dream kitchen remodel and this is exactly nice enough to have on my countertop😊 Why only 4 stars? (4-1/2 wasn’t an option). It’s about 1/4” too short. The product photo shows “European paper towels” according to the fine print. Well those Europeans have dinky paper towels. Our big-a$$ US ones reach all the way up to the top. Which means that a slightly tall roll will not turn. Solution: take the center pole and use it as a hammer to bash down the center cardboard tube just a bit. They’ll spin fine after you do that. The pole makes a great hammer for just that purpose. It is a two handed operation to tear off a sheet. If that will aggravate you, don’t buy it. You need to hold the top with one hand and tear the sheet with the other. You can try tearing very gently and straight down one-handed, and that can work, but it’s easier if you hold it. It’s very nicely made. The pole and the base magnet together strongly and precisely, no fiddling or adjusting needed, it just snaps right into place. It is not super heavy, though, so holding the top when you tear a sheet works best. I like it so much I just bought a second one so I can have paper towels by each sink. I would give it 5 stars but it really needs to be a quarter inch taller so I don’t need to bash the roll to make it spin.

Looks awesome, quality great unfortunately it’s made for Europe so US towels are bit to big. You can use it but hard to unravel.

A standard roll of paper towels is 11 inches high. The useful part of the spindle on this item in only 10 inches long. As a result, there is absolutely no mobility to the roll when the spindle makes magnetic contact with the base. A colossal design failure. The picture in the listing is completely inaccurate. Shipping was free but from Italy, and now I will have to pay at least $28 to have it sent back.
