The Genesis GMSS400W Heavy-Duty Miter Saw Stand gives you an instant portable work station wherever you need to use your miter saw. This stand is a work horse, supporting up to 400 lbs. I have no background in construction or using heavy duty tools and I was able to assemble and use easily. Safety eyewear is not included, but you should 100% wear while operating at all times. I've had a small piece of quarter round trim kick out because the vibration of the saw wiggled it loose from the clamp, and went flying at near my face. But seems to be good quality and arrived packaged well. Mostly used for cutting baseboards and trim for my house, so I'm not using it daily. But I've had it for less than a year, no issues yet. There is a manufacturing problem with this stand. I have had two shipped to me and both have had the same exact damage to one of the extension arms that holds the riser/roller. Amazon is great of course and shipped the second one to me ASAP with free second day air so I had the second broken unit quickly. Not wanting to send another back I carefully "fixed" the smashed piece to the point it would work appropriately but still...a brand new stand smashed at the factory. Buyer beware. There is a manufacturing issue with this stand. It is made in China and there seems to be no quality check/control. So buyer beware. Functionality: the stand is fairly sturdy but being that it folds up the legs do have more play in them than maybe you might think. However the stand still is sturdy when a saw is in use. But closing up the legs and moving the stand with a saw on it is a tricky thing. While the stand might fit "most" saws my Hitachi 12" sits to the side and as a result weighs the stand unevenly. This may be by design however as the point the cut is made at is centered on the saw. However, it happens that when I lift the stand to close the legs I have to be very careful about the balance of the unit or the saw will easily drop to one side. You cannot lift the carry end of the stand very high either or the physical structure of the stand will get in the way of the wheels and you will be dragging the stand and not rolling it. A six foot man such as myself has to stoop to move the stand on the wheels. So while it does roll it is not the easy breezy thing the picture on the box might make you think it is. And balance is an issue. It would be a better stand if I had three or maybe four hands. Bottom line: this is an okay stand with some manufacturing issues that are not being paid attention to and the functionality of the stand is not exactly what I was led to believe. But for $139 after all is paid it's not a bad stand either and I have been using it with decent result. If I had it to do again, barring damages, I would probably purchase another brand of stand after some deeper research. ... show more

There were a few flaws in the craftsman ship compared to some products but workable. The only reason for 4 stars in . Pleased overall. Was not buying a industrial grade item and this will work for me. I've worked in industrial manufacturing so know the difference. I'm just glad all the parts were in the box and item was not damaged due to the lack of tape holding box lid on and the damage to exterior of the box during shipping. I have a large sliding compound miter saw on a beautiful Stablemate Stand (excellent but no longer available). I decided to get a lighter miter saw that's easier to move around. And so began the search for a decent miter saw stand. Spent a lot of time looking at Amazon and other sources to find a miter saw stand with design integrity. I do metal fabrication and know how the importance of design. I was feeling discouraged with the offerrings then the Genesis miter saw stand came up on one of my searches. It was obvious right away that this is intelligently designed and I purchased it. Now that I have the stand I can say I'm extremely pleased with it. In my opinion, It's worth more money than I paid for it. It is extremely strong for the weight and everything about this stand is high quality well thought-through. I will eventually take some pictures and add to this review to explain why it is so fantastic. In the meantime I just wanted to give a big thumbs-up to Genesis for such a well-designed product. In the meantime I encourage you to seriously consider this product. I believe a manufacturer should be rewarded for putting a quality product on the market for a good price and that's why I'm taking the time to write this review. Thank you Genesis. ... show more
