The steel frame not only acts as the structure for fabric covers to be attached to, but also isolates the fabric covers from the hot running generator. It is also designed to allow you storing and running the generator at the same outdoor location without the need to move in/out & set up for each operation. We have 3 different models to cover nearly all branded generators like Honda, Generac, Champion, Firman, Duromax etc. generators ranging from 2.5 K to 18K. 2nd day in use the wind blew one side off. It may have ended up in the pacific. Frame is very flemizy. Has not stood up to Oregon weather. Do not recommend if in outside inclement weather, heavy rain or snow. If stored under cover or in shed maybe ok. Not worth the price, advertisement misleading. Ordered a metal enclosure. Update: after adjusting the cover to fit better, it appears to work as designed to do. We had 15mph with wind gust 25-30mph After repositioning to generator out of the whirlwind path between the corner of the house and shop ,I think we'll be OK. Fingers crossed until the metal enclosure comes in. FYI I bought the metal shed to secure the generator so this one won't be a target for theft. ... show more

Pros: easy to assemble, cloth of cover seems solid. Cons: incredibly flimsy, held together without any screws or bolts. I'm gonna need to find something a lot more solid than this. I don't think this would survive a texas thunderstorm, much less a hurricane. Worried, it's not gonna survive a windy day. If you spent a lot on a generator and you're in an area with rough weather, find something better i'm going to. ... show more
