The Generac 9952 (model G0099520) is a 200A open-transition service entrance rated automatic transfer switch built for whole-home standby power protection. Paired with single-phase Generac standby generators running Evolution or Power Zone 200 controllers, this switch monitors your utility supply continuously and transfers your full 200A electrical load automatically the moment grid power fails — then returns to utility power automatically when it is restored. Do you need a 200A switch? Match the switch amperage to your home's main electrical service rating. A 200A service entrance switch is the correct fit for homes with 200A service and handles both 120V and 240V loads simultaneously, including well pumps, electric dryers, HVAC systems, and refrigerators — with no circuit-by-circuit selection required. How backfeed is physically prevented: The open-transition design creates a hard mechanical break, fully disconnecting utility power before the generator connection is made. This physical sequencing eliminates the possibility of backfeed into the power grid and protects utility workers during an outage.
