Love these planters. They look great. Big pain to put together. When inserting the slats, directions say to lay it flay. Instead, set it up on its side, stick all the slats in the bottom and then put on the top....so much easier... also I configured mine differently to cover a longer area. Privacy panels like this usually go for double the cost, so this is a good deal for the price. It is not, however, a 5-star item. The quality control left a lot to be desired as several pieces were poorly built. You can tell they are built by hand because of the spacing of the brad nails. You'll need some basic tool skills to do this and it will really help if you understand how the joints are supposed to work when they don't fit. Based on my experience and the other reviews. there's a good chance yours won't fit perfectly. Either chisel a tiny bit off to make it fit or, if it's just a bit off, tap it in with a mallet. Do not miss the note that says to put the 8th slat under the others when you are lining them up - this is hugely helpful, especially if you are build these alone. A few of the other reviews make me think they might have missed that note. I didn't drill pilot holes, but I suggest you do. I heard a few pieces crack a little more than I was comfortable with. Didn't take long at all to assemble the first one, even with a couple of hiccups, and the second one was a breeze because I understood the nuances. Overall - is this a good item? Yes. It is a good item, but not a great one. A little below average in quality, but the price makes up for it. ... show more
