Why did you pick this product vs others?: Bought 2 of these chairs a couple seasons ago. I wish I had at least 2 more. They are the best beach chairs!!! They are very comfortable (not so low that us older people can’t get in & out of them with ease), have their own little shade which is big enough to at least cover your head & face, a cup holder, a pocket on side & a big one on the back, they clip to secure closure after folded, & they store flat for easy packing in car. The sewn-in backpack straps make them a hands-free carry to the beach, leaving your hands free for other things & easy/light enough as a backpack so a pre-teen girl can easily carry her own plus other things in hands. The only negative I found was that you have to grab the bottom of the chair (the metal bars) in order to fold flat & you have to lay them down in the sand to do that. This sometimes flings sand on everything & is a little clunky/tough to figure out at first, but as long as you’re aware & careful, it’s not a huge deal. Even after 2 years, 4 beach trips, 2 winters in the garage, & many car rides strapped to the roof rack, they still fold relatively easily. The positives far outweigh the negatives!!! I'd searched in stores and online for a good beach chair for years. This one ticks all the boxes just as a chair, with the sun shade as a surprisingly handy bonus. As a chair it's comfortable, and that's what I'd expect. The folding and adjustment mechanisms are both smooth and sturdy. Folded, it carries easily and comfortably. The shade has really impressed me. It offers good coverage while also being simple to deploy and stow. It can the adjusted easily with one hand and stays in place once set. I bought this chair in July and now in October the strap has shredded and I can no longer comfortably carry it as a backpack, which other than the canopy was the most important feature, something that would be easy and lightweight for me to carry.

*Light weight. *Easy to carry - padded straps to wear like a backback *Easy open and close *Back "pocket" holds a lot of stuff and has a drawstring closure so nothing falls out * LARGE cup holder easily holds over-sized cups *VERY sturdy canopy - holds up extremely well, even in steady and gusty beach winds *Comfortable seat - no bar under the legs *Firm, sturdy, comfy arm rests and the back adjusts easily. We experience some pretty significant winds on our recent trip to the beach. The canopy handled it with ease. I was amazed! That being said............ if the canopy is up on a really windy day, somebody needs to be sitting in it or it will blow away. I tried to move the chair when the wind was blowing really hard and it almost knock me (a 160 lb woman) over. It pushed me backwards for several feet before i could stop it. I had to fall forward in the chair just to make it stop. It was actually hilarious. I wish I had a video of that to share........ trying to come up with a negative, but there just are none. Best beach chair hands down. I write a fair amount of reviews and I try to be as fair and informative as I can. I've never been paid or offered discounts for any of them.
