  • Fantastic Monitor at a Fantastic Price with Great Customer Service
So far, I have really enjoyed the monitor. I've been using it as a larger, secondary screen that I hook up to my laptop and it has worked fantastic for that purpose. I bought an external mount for my desk to save room instead of using the stand. If you plan on doing this as well, be sure that you buy short mounting screws or spacers because the screw holes on the back are quite shallow. If not, the stand it came with is perfectly fine. Additionally, if you plan on using this with a laptop like I am, you may encounter an issue where you have internet connection problems, but don't worry, it's an easy fix. What would happen to me is that my laptop would say I'm connected to the wifi but do not have internet available after hooking up the HDMI cable. I found out that this is either caused by different refresh rates on your laptop vs the monitor, or it is a problem with the HDMI cable your'e using. For me it was because the refresh rate on my laptop was different than the monitor, so I just changed the setting on my laptop and haven't had this problem since. If it is the cable, try using a different one and that should fix it. Other than those few things I just talked about, I have nothing but good things to say about the monitor, especially for the price. This really is a great quality monitor in this price range because so many other monitors made by competitors with similar specifications are a lot more expensive. Some features that I like about this monitor are that it can get such high refresh rates and how much I can adjust the brightness from either very dim to very bright. I also like the slim bezels around the screen as opposed to the much wider bezels on some other monitors I've seen. The monitor is also fairly lightweight which is good if you buy an aftermarket mount that can't support much weight. I like that there are a bunch of different ports to allow for different types of connectivity and lastly, I like how clear and crisp the picture quality/resolution is. I did quite a bit of research before choosing what monitor I was going to get, and I think this really is one of, if not the best monitor on the market for this price. On top of all the great features of the monitor itself, the customer service from Gawfolk is great. After my purchase (which wasn't sponsored btw, I paid full price) they contacted me personally to see if I had any questions about the product or had experienced any issues setting up my monitor. I told them that I did not but appreciated that they reached out to me because I don't know of many other companies that would do that. So, if you encounter any issues with your monitor, I know firsthand that they will do whatever they can to assist you. All in all, if you are on the fence about this monitor, don't be, you will not regret your purchase as this is the best bang for your buck monitor I've seen recently. ... show more

  • Great picture, some weird and annoying MacOS issues, nonexistent support
This monitor has a whole lot to like at a sub-$500 price point (as of fall 2025) but has some issues too. I bought it after getting used to a similar 38" ultrawide monitor at work made by Dell, but that monitor costs 2-3x what this one does. The good news: the picture is just as good, big, bright, and detailed as the fancy Dell monitor that I'm used to, and that's the most important thing. I felt confident in this monitor after having a good experience with another 32" 4K Gawfolk monitor was around $200 and was amazing. The backlighting is definitely not uniform and it may have other imperfections but IMO that is nitpicking and not something that affects my actual user experience as a non-artist. So, the panel still looks fantastic and I'm not unhappy per se. But this is still an expensive purchase even if a relative bargain, and it has some annoying problems that I will describe in hopes they are helpful to someone. The main con is that the monitor will not stay at 3840x1600 resolution in MacOS by default. It defaults to a lower incorrect and non-widescreen resolution in MacOS, seemingly no matter what I do. The very odd thing about it is that it will become able to hit its native 3840x1600 resolution, but only if I turn the AMD FreeSync option in the clunky monitor settings menu on or off (doesn't matter which way, but changing the option makes MacOS realize the monitor can go higher res; this makes no sense to me because my computer has nothing to do with AMD). It will then remember that until some amount of time of monitor or computer sleep (haven't been able to isolate yet), then the process has to be repeated to get correct resolution back. I've had this issue with both HDMI (direct from my mac mini) or DisplayPort (from my thunderbolt dock). I've tried numerous different software products to enable extra display settings in MacOS. It can see the high resolution setting but won't make it default and can't change to it unless I change the FreeSync setting. I reached out to Gawfolk's very threadbare-looking support website about this and have received no response, weeks later. So, that is annoying and I probably would not have bought this monitor if I had known about this, but it's not annoying enough to force me to return it. The greater concern is the total lack of support, so be prepared for that. For what it is worth, my Windows (Enterprise Windows 10) laptop does not have this problem and seems to default to the correct 3840x1600 resolution as "recommended" both through direct HDMI connection and my thunderbolt dock via DisplayPort. So, this may be a MacOS-specific issue. The other trivial but annoying issue is that this monitor apparently did not come with VESA monitor screws and it takes very, very short ones such that I need to order new screws to attach the monitor securely to my monitor mount. The other Gawfolk monitor that I bought (that cost half this much) included compatible screws. So, I'm not sure if they just didn't make it into my box, but that's super cheap on Gawfolk's part to not give a couple cents' worth of screws and force me to go buy a pack of more than I need and wait for those to arrive. If you're using the stand (which is pretty good!), this won't matter to you, but a heads up for the mounting folks. Another fun thing is that there are open holes on the back of the monitor, and I accidentally dropped a screw when attaching that fell in one of the holes and won't come out. Can't really blame Gawfolk for that one, but just a taste of some of the quality tradeoffs in terms of construction and little considerations like this. ... show more

  • Broke really quick.
Good picture, but the monitor showed signs of damage within just a month of sitting by a tinted window. For reference, my LG monitor sat there for two years and never had problems. Screen flickers and dead pixels. I would not suggest this as a main long-term monitor.

  • Not the best, probably the best in this price range.
Size: 34 inch UWQHD 144Hz Set name: UWQDH 144Hz
It is definitely worth the price. It is not the best display I have seen recently, But it actually reaches the advertised refresh rate, and has pretty good color and contrast.
