Wheel was a great size for what I needed and stopped my gate from sagging while looking nice. Operates smoothly on concrete patio. One thing to mention is the quality of the metal used for the screws is so bad that they stripped with use from just a screwdriver. If you have other screws use those.

I attached this wheel to the bottom of a five foot vinyl fence door. My cement is a bit uneven so the bottom of the vinyl door would scrape and was difficult to open/close. The media could not be loaded. Arrived as expected. I put a gate on my old deck and realized the post holding the gate was bowed due to time. I needed a wheel to keep weight off the hinges but it needed a spring since the swing of the gate is uneven (high closed and low open). I mounted it where the gate was at its highest point from the deck and was able to open and close it flawlessly. The spring is smooth and the wheel turns with no lag. Notes: this is only day 2. I also used my own outdoor deck screws, not the ones provided. I ordered right side but my gate was thinner than the wheel mount. I added a scrap cut to the gate to get a solid mount. ... show more

This gate wheel works well for supporting my relatively heavy wooden fence gate. The side opposite the hinges previously sagged quite a bit and had to be lifted up manually to latch or unlatch, but mounting this wheel to it helps to keep it up where it's supposed to be, making latching and unlatching as well as opening and closing much easier. And, of course, this also relieves quite a bit of lateral forces applied to the hinges. Due to the spring, the gate now travels nice and smoothly, even across the uneven ground over which it moves. Having 3 screw holes on one face and 4 on the other also allows for a very strong connection to the gate and/or flexibility in which screw holes you use to mount it. Cons: The screw holes on the side of the mount facing the wheel are relatively close to the metal plates that stick out to support the spring and wheel. This means that you can't easily fit a drill driver in there to drill holes or drive the screws into those holes. However, in my case, I found that the three screws in the plate on the end were plenty for my use case and had the gate quite firmly attached to the wheel assembly, so I just left out the 4 screws on the side facing the wheel. The rubber caps that are designed to be placed over the bolt head and nut for the bolt that holds the wheel on are so long that, when attached, they stick out farther than the end plate of the bracket that mounts to the gate and, thus, past the end of the gate. As a result of this, they were hitting the fence post when opening or closing the gate when attached in my case, which was making the gate harder to open or close. As a result, I ended up just removing them. I don't consider either of these cons enough to remove a star, but they're just things to be aware of. ... show more
