I have used Fitbit for years, but I don't like the company tracking that you have to agree to now. So I turned to Garmin. The Venu is great, though it IS rather large on a woman's wrist. Still, I can see the screen (a feat for a 70+) and the face is bright enough that I can see it in the out of doors on a sunny day. There are more "bells and whistles" than I will ever use, but that's what makes it flexible to all activities. The one thing I am not quite comfortable with is that it seems the steps counted is off. Doing activities that would have given me 8-10k steps shows 4-5k on the Garmin. It's possible that I need to do something to calibrate it and just haven't found the way. I always had to input my stride length in the Fitbit but was never asked with the Garmin setup. Still, I much prefer the Garmin and am quite happy with my purchase. ... show more

Not the best battery life with that being said otherwise its a good smartwatch. Had a Samsung Galaxy 3 before I had bought this one and that was very disappointing. Garmin has been around for years and always trust there products. overall I'm very impressed how accurate everything is. Besides GPS is complicated to setup so i haven't set it up. ... show more

The watch is very nice. I like the fact that I can download music and mow the lawn without my phone. It'll track by G p s my fitness without my phone. My only complaint is that the font size is small, I can't read Text or calendar information without glasses. Battery last 2 days.

I was looking for a reasonably priced watch to replace my aged Galaxy Active 2 watch. Mostly I needed something to track my runs and that I could load music onto! And I wanted a rectangle watch for a style change. I searched and searched and came across this - I think less popular? - Garmin watch. It had exactly what I wanted and within my budget. But now that I've been using it, I Love it! I am a serious "data" junkie and am thrilled at how much data I'm given from wearing this watch!! I mean every single data point I could think of is here!! It's endlessly fascinating and motivating to track steps, distance, HRT, and unique things like Stress level and body energy! I like this overall - using it to ballpark some of my data. The sleep data is always wildly off, and I edit the times down every morning. (It sometimes records me as being still asleep as I'm doing this!) I think the heart rate is pretty accurate for my overall day - except it does not recognize when I'm exercising! I wear another heart rate monitor while I'm on my bike; the Garmin insists my heart rate is at 80 or 90 beats, while the "real" monitor tells me I'm at 165+. The heart rate on the Garmin will actually drop while I'm looking at it, as I'm continuing to ride. It used to connect to my phone, so I could control podcasts and audiobooks, but that stopped working a few months after I bought it. I've never been able to get it to download the music it says it will do. Fewer features - things it can actually do, and a lower price, and this would be just fine. ... show more

I think its a well rounded and budget conscious watch. My only "complaint" would be the screen as seems to be quite dimmed, but I have a Samsung Watch 4 and I know the screen is in a different league, and I also knew that the screen for the Garmin doesn't compete in that quality league. Besides that, everything else its just perfect, and the battery is amazing ... show more
