This is an amazing product from Garmin. This is their entry level option and it’s very well made and good value for money. Better yet, got this around Thanksgiving so it was discounted. Very sturdy build with sleek design and quality materials and finish. Band could be an issue for larger persons but there are after market options available. Comes in a box with minimal items in it; charging cable (USB-C to Garmin’s proprietary attachment configuration) and a booklet. The user manual is available through a barcode that takes you to their PDF version of the manual, allowing for less bulk in the box. Tracks metrics well and offers a variety of functions to choose from, such as exercise tracking (across different activities), sleep tracking and certain lifestyle metrics such as heart rate and heart rate variability during sleep. Battery life is good but can vary depending on the notification settings you have as it vibrates to alert you of notifications as well. Great support and access to a variety of Garmin’s community activities and connections through the Garmin Connect app. Lots of challenges available too through the community functions in the app too, such as step goals, cycling and gym goals, swim goals etc. All in all, would recommend for anyone willing to make a low risk entry to Garmin’s platform or looking for a light weight option to help with activity tracking. ... show more

The Garmin Forerunner 165 Music has been a solid upgrade from an older Garmin model. Battery life stands out immediately, especially considering how active the watch always feels in the background with tracking and smart features running continuously. The watch is used for both indoor and outdoor running, and the improvements in treadmill run tracking are especially noticeable. Distance and pace feel far more accurate than previous generations, making indoor workouts much more reliable. The music functionality is another highlight. Even without subscribing to most of the compatible music services, the ability to download a few Amazon Music playlists directly to the watch has been extremely useful. Being able to run without a phone while still having music available is a major plus. Customization is another strong point. The option to create and use a personal background image for the watch face adds a nice personal touch and makes the device feel more tailored to individual preferences. The only real drawback is the size of the watch head. On a smaller wrist, the larger face can feel bulky and occasionally cause some unexpected discomfort, especially during longer wear periods. This watch has treated me well. I wasn't looking for a smart watch. I just wanted a GPS/Fitness Tracker. It has some of the capabilities of a smart watch. I get call, text, and notification updates. I use it as an alarm. The free "Connect" app is great. I can track all of my performance and health metrics. It calculates sleep score, stress level, heart rate, breathing rate, and a few others. The watch face is customizable. The menu is simple to use and navigate. There is a cool feature where the watch face switches to a sleep mode--black background, white stencil lettering, and dim lighting. I really like that feature, because it does have a really powerful LED display. I can read the watch through most of my sleeves. I did have a minor allergic reaction to the small loop that the watch band passes through. I ended up replacing the band with another option and my skin cleared up within days.
