  • Well built & sturdy - definately worth it.
Package Type: Standard Packaging
I'm using this product with a GPSmap 62s and I think my comments would apply to any of the GPSmap series. Based on the other comments, this kit works with many of Garmin's products, and some of those comments don't apply to the 62s. Specifically the comment about the GPS being awkward to mount/dismount does not apply to the 62s. It's a well-designed system and very easy and natural to mount/dismount from the bracket once you understand how the retention feature works (which is intuitively obvious upon inspection). I do agree with the comments about the mount being easy to snap off the ball on the bracket, but that only happened to me during my first time set-up when I was orienting the mount on the bracket and twisting and turning quite a bit. Over all, this is a well-built and easy to use product. The only trouble I had was the first time I tried to plug the power cable into my new GPSmap 62s, it was a little tight to get in, but after that first time it was fine. It's a very secure connection. As a professional mechanical engineer, I have no regrets about my purchase. ... show more

  • Garmin Oregon Auto kit
Package Type: Standard Packaging
Good mount kit for glass windshield. Connecting the Oregon unit to the mount plate is a little tricky, but once connected, it is a secure attachment. The glass suction cup is very strong, and the GPS mount plate clicks into the suction cup component via sturdy ball mount. Sometimes I leave the GPS unit attached to the mount plate, and disconnect it from the suction cup via the ball mount. The cigarette lighter connector is a little oversized, but works fine. The power supply plug connects to the bottom of the GPS unit and protrudes forward, but is not a problem since the GPS unit is close to the windshield. The power cord is very long, and you may have to tuck it away, or tie wrap up the extra cord. All in all, the GPS auto kit is a good unit, and provides a secure powered mount. ... show more

  • Best It Can Be
Package Type: Standard Packaging
Shipped & Arrived on Time. The Quality I have found to be very good with no problems at all. The only qualm I have is due to the GPS design, it will cause the cord to be ejected forward rather than shot out behind. However, if you just tuck the cord back behind the gps it will be out of the way and not get caught on your steering wheel or hands. I would definately reccomend this for anyone with a Oregon 400T as it is the best on the market for this version. ... show more

  • Could have a vertical lock
Package Type: Standard Packaging
I use the mount with my Garmin Colorado, most of the time for off-road use meaning constant vibration and some bumps. The mount is a 5 star if just used on paved roads. What annoys me is that there is no vertical lock that ensures the GPS stays in a constant height when fixed on my dashboard, it constantly looses height hiding behind the wheel. One tip, always keep the mounting dash clean to ensure your GPS doesn't fall when off-road gets fun. ... show more

  • Slip sliding away
Package Type: Standard Packaging
Pretty basic kit. Power works fine--tip is a little tough to line up, but it fits snug. The suction cup mount doesn't work well. If you have super clean glass and wet the cup a bit, it will hold somewhat. The problem is that the suction cup is too small to hold the weight of this unit. Plus, since you have to press the keys fairly hard, don't expect it to stay attached very long. Mine has fallen off the glass several times while driving which is not fun. I'm going to use the clip that comes with this kit and attach it to a bean bag dash mount, or use the suction cup i use with my garmin nuvi. ... show more

  • Does the job, but awkward to set up
Package Type: Standard Packaging
This "autonavkit" -- what marketer thought that up? -- does a great job of holding the GPSr in place while driving. There is a lot of room for adjustment once it's mounted, and it stays put even on rough roads. The downside is that it is awkward to attach the GPSr to the bracket: you have to slide the unit in from one side by feel, then rotate it 180 degrees to attach the cable, then position it. ... show more

  • Suction Cup sort of Sucks
Package Type: Standard Packaging
On the whole, I like the mounting system. I like the price I paid for the entire kit, too. The down fall is the suction cup mount. Using it on the windshield, it has fallen several times. It appears to be heat related. I have cleaned the glass and the rubber cup with different cleaners, but it continues to release occasionally. I have been saved by draping the power cord over the rear view mirror, so the drop turned into more of a dangle. I reckon I will try the dash mount, utilizing the included sticky back disc. Not where I wanted to go, but better than nothing. ... show more

  • All I needed, almost.
Package Type: Standard Packaging
Geocaching with the new Garmin Oregon makes this kit indespensible for me, I like my GPS stuck to the windshield really solid, and an easy to use plugin to save my batteries. I haven't used the adhesive disc yet, but plan to install it on my truck dashboard for possible solo caching days. This was worth the money, if you geocache, you'll be glad you have it. Geocaching by bike, it doesn't really work for that, so I got a handlebar mount and that completes me. ... show more
