This hand tool arrived in good condition. The coating was intact, no scratches or flaws. The handle is secure and in good condition. This little hand rake is going to be useful. The size is nice for tending to small areas whether it's thread weeding, working in soil amendments or removing and replacing small areas of mulch. The tines are not round but cupped flat steel so they'll grip the soil better. The tool is light so you can use it for a long time without tiring, important for those with limited strength or arthritis. Likewise, the handle is comfortable and easy to grip. The material seems as though it will hold up over the years and not get tacky and unpleasant. The shaft is very securely attached to the handle. Most often with tools of this type the shaft pulls out after a time and even if you reseat it, it's never the same. This looks very sturdy. It looks to be molded to an inner layer (red) with the comfort handle added later (black). I tugged and wiggled it and it was rock solid. There is a hole in the end of the handle for hanging or a lanyard. As with anything, tools need to be used properly to last. This is not for shoveling gravel, digging in hardpan clay or levering out thick roots. Use it for the intended purpose and you should get many years out of it. ... show more

This isn't a bad tool if you aren't a serious gardener. If you have a couple of flower beds or small veggie or herb garden this would work fine. However, if you are a serious gardener as I am - this tool likely won't hold up that long. The problem is mostly the handle and the way it's attached to the rake head. I have to deal with softer weeds but also bermuda grass that sends roots all over the place. It's hard to find tools that will rip these out and hold up to the usage. I've used similar tools in the past with these slip on handles and they are great for a little while but seems the handles stretch or become loose and start sliding off. But again, if you aren't doing alot of work this one will work fine.....just not for me ... show more

This hand tiller will be very useful in the spring when I am trying to clean up the flower beds behind the rose trees. I needed the additional reach provided by this handle to till the soil without getting caught by the thorns. I like the comfort of the handle, and I now have this lightweight handy tool ready to tackle spring cleanup. It has a hanging hole, so I can hang it in plain sight. It is small enough for me to till the soil around my plants in growbags in my greenhouse. Its shaft and 5 tines are made of stainless steel, so rust should not be an issue. I had my reservations about this rake based on the photos, and they were well founded. The metal teeth are weak and bent easily in firm soil. The handle was not comfortable after a long period of use. This is a light use hand rake to be used in soft soil only. If you are looking for a quality, heavy duty tool, this is not the one for you. ... show more

This seems like a well made garden rake. I like how the handle is longer than most flower garden rakes. I can't wait to use it in the spring. Also, at around 6 bucks, it's a good price.

    • Impressive Little Rake
I am an avid raised-bed gardener, and this little rake seems very sturdy and useful. I particularly like it for my smaller raised bed gardens, but it's also useful with small areas in the lawn. The "teeth" are hardened steel and won't bend easily, which is an important consideration with garden tools. The grip is comfortable and I like the overall size of the rake. We shifted to raised garden beds recently and our classic long handle tools are just too big. This is a great soil tiller/rake that definitely makes the garden maintenance much easier.     • Practical and priced right
I used this little rake for my butterfly garden. It sits under oak trees that shed leaves year-round so I’m constantly having to gather the leaves out by hand since a normal sized rake would damage my plants. This works so much better and it is the perfect price.
