Great starter set for aspiring mechanics. Bought for my son to work on his jeep. Craftsman tools have worked well for me for decades. Are they sn*p on or m*tco? No. But they don’t require a second mortgage to buy them. And they are far better than the cheap sets at the discount store.

It would be nice if the sellers would include pics like this. Kinda takes all the mystery out of what’s actually included when Craftsman can’t even get right what’s in the box. In order to get a clear picture of what’s included I put the sockets into trays I got at HF, my preferred method of socket organization. See the pics for what I’m talking about. Note that Craftsman’s answer to ‘are there any 12 point sockets?’ is incorrect. All the 1/4 and 3/8” drive sockets are 6 point and all the 1/2” drive sockets are 12 point. *SAE sockets; 1/4” drive, they skipped the 7/32 deep for some reason. They did include 5/32 shallow and deep, which don’t have a spot in the tray and are to the right. 3/8” drive, they decided to not include the 15/16 or 1” deep sockets. 1/2” drive, no sockets larger than the 3/8” drive and a poor showing of deep sockets. *Metric sockets; 1/4” drive, full set. 3/8” drive, full set and includes a 21 and 22 shallow but no deep. 1/2” drive, paltry showing of deep sockets. *Wrenches, for some reason they skipped the 13/16”. Note that craftsman's web site and their answers to questions here about included wrenches are incorrect. In the end I’ll keep it but I will have to fill in some they didn’t include. ... show more

So I got my set today, I really like the whole set up it has everything you might need for some repairs, what I did not like is that it came in this cheap plastic molding that won’t last very long, and honestly I thought it would come in an organized tool box with drawers like some of the other sets, so now I have to buy a toolbox to set this into and I really wish that it would have come with it , anyways mixed thoughts whether to keep or send back just because of that ... show more
