  • Birthday gift
I bought the book in a spiral form for my son who is planing to put a pond in his back yard. I purchased it in the spiral form so that he can use it like a work book and the book stays open on the page. A very informative book. He really liked it. The book arrived earlier than original schedule for which I was very pleased. ... show more

  • Lots of useful knowledge.
Best book I've seen for pond care for beginners. Good coverage of water chemistry, monitoring and care. Discusses certain common scenarios and how to correct. Recommend.

  • Not for natural ponds
Just so you know, this book is excellent for man-made ponds. But l have a small stream running through my property that l want to widen and make a pond that spills. The title including "waterfalls" is what caught my attention. But l'll have to keep looking.

  • Quick, thorough primer on garden ponds.
We used to have a store locally that sold these supplies, but no more, so I bought the book for a quick overview on what was needed to take a project through to completion. We water a garden in a dry location, so anything that helps out the local birds makes a nice addition. The pond book was thorough and informative enough to meet my expectations. ... show more

  • Beautifully illustrated, and gives a nice background to water ponds
This has a nice little history of ponds to start with (I like to have background history), then it shows in great detail how you can create your own backyard water pond. The illustrations are very pleasing, and the step-by-step is something that even *I* can follow. I think if I had an extra $5,000 laying around waiting to be spent (yes the pool designs, while it doesn't give a price list for each item, you know it's going to cost a pretty penny), I'd start building one in our backyard tomorrow. I just need to convince my wife that water pond space is more important than land garden space. ... show more
