I used this to cover my cushaw squash (to keep the vine borers/squash bugs off). My trellis is 9 ft high by 11 ft wide and it was large enough to enclose the squash in an 8 X 2 X 1.5 aluminum grow box. I used clothes pins to secure it to the edge of the box. You can water the plants without removing the netting. If a strong wind comes along - it will blow off, even when secured with rocks or clothespins. In a smaller location (without all the height) that did not happen. Handle with care; the weave of fabric can shift causing a small hole because it is very loosely woven.

It will get tear holes in it, depending on what it rubs against (the supports or the plants themselves) and how much you need to handle it (removing and replacing with periodic harvests). That’s just typical of this kind of fine netting. Birds are less likely to get caught in this kind of netting vs. the other (more durable) plastic netting with larger holes (which also don’t keep bugs out). I used a yarn needle (big eye) and some polished jute to sew 2 sheets together to cover my raspberry bushes. A PVC pipe frame made it easy to cover the thorny bushes that otherwise would catch on this kind of netting.
